The answer is (9, -9) for The second endpoint.

Let's start by calling the known endpoint L and the unknown K. We'll call the midpoint M. In order to find this, we must first note that to find a midpoint we need to take the average of the endpoints. To do this we add them together and then divide by 2. So, using that, we can write a formula and solve for each part of the k coordinates. We'll start with just x values.

(Kx + Lx)/2 = Mx

(Kx + 5)/2 = 7

Kx + 5 = 14

Kx = 9

And now we do the same thing for y values

(Ky + Ly)/2 = My

(Ky + -3)/2 = -6

Ky + 3 = -12

Ky = -9

This gives us the final point of (9, -9)

A train travels with a constant speed of 88 km/h. How far can it travel in 3 hours??? PLEASE HELPP
blagie [28]
Since it is traveling at a constant rate of 88 km per hour, if we were to find out what it could travel in 3 hours we would multiply 88 by 3. If done correctly you should get 264. Hopefully this helps you!

Solve this system of linear equations. Separate the x and the y values with a comma.
ohaa [14]
4x = -60 - 19y
-7x = -48 - 19y

Subtract the bottom equation from the top:
4x + 7x = -60 + 48 - 19y + 19y

Simplify:

11x = -12 -0y
11x = -12

Divide both sides by 11:
11x/11 = -12/11

Simplify:
x = -12/11
Then plug in x to solve for y: 4(-12/11) = -60 - 19y

Simplify: -48/11 = -60 - 19y

Add 60 to both sides (keep in mind 60 = 660/11):

-48/11 + 660/11 = -60 + 60 - 19y

Simplify:
612/11 = 0 - 19y
612/11 = -19y

Divide both sides by -19 (keep in mind that dividing by -19 is the same as multiplying by -1/19):
612/11 • -1/19 = -19y/-19

Simplify:
-612/209 = y
y = -612/209

So, the answer is: (-12/11, -612/209)
