<span>used p total before = p total after </span>

<span>p total after can be found using p = mv (since only one ball is in motion we can ignore the second ball) </span>
<span>p= 10 * 40 </span>
<span>=400 kg* m/s </span>

<span>p total after must also be 400 </span>

<span>p total before = p ball1 + p ball2 </span>
<span>m1v1 + m2v2 </span>
<span>isolate for the mass of ball 2 </span>
<span>m2= (p total - m1v1) / v2 </span>
<span>= (400 - 10(20))/ 20 </span>
<span>= 200/20 </span>
<span>= 10 kg

How do the positions of the sun and moon affect what people do?
Verdich [7]

-- The position of the sun was originally the primary influence in determining
when people went to sleep and when they woke up.  Although it no longer
directly influences us, that pattern is so deeply ingrained in our make-up
that our behavior still largely coincides with the positions of the sun.

-- The position of the Moon was originally the primary influence in determining
the cycle of human female physiology.  Although it no longer directly influences
us, that pattern is so deeply ingrained in human make-up that the female cycle
still largely coincides with the positions of the Moon.

P14.003A spherical gas-storage tank with an inside diameter of 8.1 m is being constructed to store gas under an internal pressur
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

The minimum wall thickness required for the spherical tank is 0.0189 m

Explanation:

Given data:

d = inside diameter = 8.1 m

P = internal pressure = 1.26 MPa

σ = 270 MPa

factor of safety = 2

Question: Determine the minimum wall thickness required for the spherical tank, tmin = ?

The allow factor of safety:

\sigma _{a}  =\frac{\sigma }{factor-of-safety} =\frac{270}{2} =135MPa

The minimun wall thickness:

t=\frac{Pd}{4\sigma _{a} } =\frac{1.26*8.1}{4*135} =0.0189m

amping equipment weighing 6.0 kN is pulled across a frozen lake by means of ahorizontal rope. The coecient of kinetic friction i
Harman [31]

Answer:

Work done = 422.45 kJ

Explanation:

given,

weight of equipment = 6 kN

coefficient of kinetic friction = 0.05

distance up to which it is pulled = 1000 m

constant acceleration = 0.2 m/s²

Work done by the camper = ?

actual acceleration acting a'

m a = m a' - μ mg

a' = a + μ g

a' = 0.2 + 0.05 x 9.8

a' = 0.69 m/s²

Work done = Force x distance

F = m a'

F = \dfrac{6000}{9.8} \times 0.69

F = 422.44897 N

Work done = F x d

Work done = 422.44897 x 1000

Work done = 422449 J

Work done = 422.45 kJ
