Leona [35]

Answer:

See explaination

Explanation:

CBR (Cosmic Background Radiation)-

Uniform energy that is heard everywhere in the universe. It supports the Big Bang Theory because we can assume that it also started in the same place.

Hubble's Law-

Hubble's Law states that the planets are getting farther away from eachother, therefore, the universe is expanding and must have started as a smaller piece.

What mass of oxygen is needed to burn 54.0 grams of butane c4h10
Jobisdone [24]

The moles of oxygen required to burn Butane is 6 moles.

What is a Combustion Reaction?

A reaction in which fuel gets oxidised by an oxidising agent producing a large amount of heat is called a combustion reaction.

In this question

Butane is burnt with oxygen

Molar mass of C₄H₁₀ = (12.0×4 + 1.0×10) g/mol = 58.0 g/mol

Molar mass of O₂ = 16.0×2 g/mol = 32.0 g/mol

Balanced equation for the reaction:

2C₄H₁₀ + 13O₂ → 8CO₂ + 10H₂O

Mole ratio C₄H₁₀ : O₂ = 2 : 13

The given mass = 54grams

moles = 54/58 = 0.93 moles

The mole of oxygen required =

0.93/ x = 2/13

0.93*13/2 = x

x = 6.045 moles

Therefore 6 moles of oxygen are required to burn Butane.

Why would an unstable radioactive isotope (nuclide) emit a beta particle (high energy electron)?
sasho [114]

Answer:

A)It has too many neutrons

Explanation:

Electrons are emitted from the nucleus when a neutron is converted to a proton, an electron and a neutrino. This process is popularly known as beta emission. It reduces the neutron-proton ratio of a nuclide. The neutrino is a particle of zero mass and zero charge that carries off the excess energy and balances spins.

The loss of an electron from the nucleus occurs when there are too many neutrons in the nucleus. The process of beta emission usually reduces the number of neutrons in an atom thereby decreasing the neutron-proton ratio.
