Two parallel plates that are initially uncharged are separated by 1.7 mm, have only air between them, and each have surface area
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

5.63\cdot 10^{-6} C

Explanation:

The capacitor of a parallel-plate capacitor is given by:

C=\epsilon_0 \frac{A}{d}

where

A is the area of each plate

d is the separation between the plates

\epsilon_0 is the vacuum permittivity

The energy stored in a capacitor instead is given by

U=\frac{1}{2}\frac{Q^2}{C}

where

Q is the charge stored in each plate

Substituting the expression we found for C inside the last formula,

U=\frac{1}{2}\frac{Q^2 d}{\epsilon_0 A}

And re-arranging it

Q=\sqrt{\frac{2U\epsilon_0 A}{d}}

Now if we substitute

d=1.7 mm=0.0017 m\\A=16 cm^2 = 16\cdot 10^{-4} m^2\\U = 1.9 J

We find the charge stored on the capacitor:

Q=\sqrt{\frac{2(1.9)(8.85\cdot 10^{-12})(16\cdot 10^{-4})}{0.0017}}=5.63\cdot 10^{-6} C

3. A force of 90N pushes downward at an angle of 32° to the horizontal on an object resting on the floor. The
Nonamiya [84]

F = m × g

Now when, a force acts on the object at an angle and in downwards, thus formula becomes:

= N = mg + F sin(x)

Here,

  • N = normal force, m = mass , g = acceleration due to gravity, F = outside force, x = the angle formed

See, as we habe to calculate the weight, which is m × g, thus we will recreate thus formula like thus:

= N = w + F sin(x) --------- [Weight = w]

Now, the solutions becomes easy from here, just put the values:

= N = w + F sin(x)

= 200 = w + 90 × sin(32)

= 200 = w + 90 × 0.55

= 200 = w + 49.5

= 200 - 49.5 = w

= 150.5 = w

I have got my answer but in approx, hope you will not mind. ^^"

G Railroad tracks are made from segments L = 79 m long at T = 20° C. When the tracks are laid, the engineers leave gaps of width
Andreyy89

Answer:

l=L\alpha(T_c-T)

Explanation:

L = Initial length of segment = 79 m

T = Normal temperature = 20^{\circ}\text{C}

l = Width to be left for expansion

\alpha = Coefficient of linear expansion of the material = 12\times 10^{-6}^{\circ}\text{C}^{-1}

T_c = Maximum temperature = 39.5^{\circ}\text{C}

\Delta T = Change in temperature = T_c-T

The expression of linear expansion is given by

l=L\alpha\DeltaT\\\Rightarrow l=L\alpha(T_c-T)

The expression for the minimum gap distance l the engineers must leave for a track rated at temperature T_c is l=L\alpha(T_c-T)

The area of a piston of a force pump is 8 X 10⁴m². What force must be
prisoha [69]

Answer:

Force of 37.44 * 10^{8} Kgm/s^2 must be  applied to the piston to raise oil to a height of 6.0 m

Explanation:

As we know,

Pressure is the force per unit area

Or P = \frac{F}{A}

Force = P * A

Pressure is the product of density, gravitational constant and height

P = 780 * 10 * 6

Force

= P * A\\= 780 * 10*6*8*10^4\\= 37.44 * 10^{8}Kgm/s^2
