It really does not help because friction is slowing the players down having to put more energy at what they are doing it would be harder on ice which has about no friction you do not have to put alot of energy doing it

A 1000-kg whale swims horizontally to the right at a speed of 6.0 m/s. It suddenly collides directly with a stationary seal of m
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

Momentum after collision will be 6000 kgm/sec

Explanation:

We have given mass of the whale = 1000

Initial velocity v = 6 m/sec

It collides with other mass of 200 kg which is at stationary

Initial momentum of the whale = 1000×6 = 6000 kgm/sec

We have to find the momentum after collision

From conservation of momentum

Initial momentum = final momentum

So final momentum = 6000 kgm/sec

Un prisma rectangular de cobre, de base igual a 36 centímetros cuadrados y una altura de 10 cm se sumerge hasta la mitad por med
butalik [34]

La respuesta correcta es 180 centímetros cúbicos o 180 cm^{3}

Explicación:

El primer paso para saber cuanto alcohol desaloja el prisma es calcular el volumen total del prisma. El volumen se puede encontrar usando la formula V (Volumen) = B (base) x h (altura). El proceso se muestra a continuación:

V  = B x h

V = 36 cm^{2} x 10 cm

V= 360 cm^{3}

Finalmente, el volumen total del prisma debe dividirse en 2 considerando que solo la mitad del prisma fue sumergida y esta mitad equivale al volumen del alcohol desplazado.

360 cm^{3} ÷ 2 = 180 cm^{3}

A cue ball, moving with 9.0 N·s of momentum strikes the nine-ball at rest. The nine-ball moves off with 2.0 N·s in the original
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

P = 7.28 N.s

Explanation:

given,

initial momentum of cue ball in x- direction,P₁ = 9 N.s

momentum of nine ball in  x-  direction, P₂ = 2 N.s

momentum in perpendicular direction i.e. y - direction,P'₂ = 2 N.s

momentum of the cue after collision = ?

using conservation of momentum

in x- direction

P₁ + p = x  + P₂

p is the initial momentum of the nine balls which is equal to zero.

9 + 0  = x  + 2

x = 7 N.s

momentum in x-direction.

equating along y-direction

P'₁ + p = y + P'₂

0 + 0 = y + 2

y = -2 N.s

the momentum of the cue ball after collision is equal to resultant of the momentum .

P = \sqrt{x^2+y^2}

P = \sqrt{7^2+(-2)^2}

      P = 7.28 N.s

the momentum of the cue ball after collision is equal to P = 7.28 N.s
