Explanation:

According to Arrhenius, bases are the species which when dissolved in water will give hydroxide ions, that is, OH^{-}.

On the other hand, species which tend to dissociate in water to given hydrogen ions, that is, H^{+} ions are known as acids.

So, in the given situation NO^{-}_{2} is the anion. And, when when it is added to water the it will combine with a hydrogen atom and results in the formation of HNO_{2}.

The reaction equation will be as follows.

   NO^{-}_{2}(aq) + H_{2}O(l) \rightarrow HNO_{2}(aq) + OH^{-}(aq)

Hello!

Bases are defined by Arrhenius as substances which release OH⁻ ions when dissolved in water. NO₂⁻ complies with this definition by the chemical reaction that is shown below:

 NO₂⁻(aq) + H₂O (l) HNO₂ (aq) + OH⁻(aq)

HOW MANY LIGHT YEARS DOES IT TAKE TO TRAVEL THE SUN
Murljashka [212]

The light reflected from the surface of the Moon takes only a second to reach Earth. The Sun is more than 8 light-minutes away. And so, if the light from the nearest star (Alpha Centauri) takes more than 4 years to reach us, we're seeing that star 4 years in the past.
