Can a number be both rational and irrational
natulia [17]

A rational number is a number which can be expressed as a fraction whose numerator and denominator are both integers and whose denominator is not equal to zero. Rational numbers include all integers, fractions, mixed numbers, and some decimal numbers.

Note : All terminating and repeating decimal numbers are rational numbers because those numbers can be expressed as a fraction. On the other hand, a non repeating number and non terminating decimal, like square root of 2, is an irrational number.

Can someone work this out for me please? I'm so confused.
ruslelena [56]
Multiply 3/4 and 4 and you simply get 3 (these are the amount of tickets bought) Then divide the cost by tickets which results in 2.05

(3/4) x 4=3
6.15 / 3 = 2.05

Jay has $8. he wants to buy a book for $7.50. the sales tax is 6%. does he have enough money? explain your reasoning.
antoniya [11.8K]
Yes he does.

If the sales tax is 6%, that means that he has to pay an extra 6 cents for every dollar.

6x7.5=45

$7.50+$0.45=$7.95
