Given:

70g C7H6O3

80g C4H6O3

Required:

Limiting reactant

Solution:

The balanced chemical reaction is C7H6O3 + C4H6O3 + 23/4O2 -> 11CO2 + 6H2O

Molar mass of C7H6O3 = 138 g/mol

Molar mass of C4H6O3 = 102 g/mol

70g C7H6O3 (1 mol C7H6O3/138g C7H6O3)(1 mol C4H6O3/ 1mol C7H6O3)(102g C4H6O3/1mol C4H6O3) = 51.74g C4H6O3

80g C4H6O3 - 51.74g C4H6O3 = 28.26g C4H6O3

There are 28.26g C4H6O3 left after reacting it with C7H6O3, therefore the limiting reactant is C7H6O3.

Answer:

Semiconductors are poor conductors at low temperatures, but their resistance decreases with increasing temperature.

Explanation:

A semiconductor can be defined as a crystalline solid substance that has its conductivity lying between that of a metal and an insulator, due to the effects of temperature or an addition of an impurity. Semiconductors are classified into two main categories;

1. Extrinsic semiconductor.

2. Intrinsic semiconductor.

The statement which best describes the electrical conductivity of metals and semiconductors is that semiconductors are poor conductors at low temperatures, but their resistance decreases with increasing temperature.

This ultimately implies that, semiconductors are typically an insulator (poor conductor) at low temperatures and a good conductor at high temperatures.

Additionally, conduction involves the transfer of electric charge or thermal energy due to the movement of particles. When the conduction relates to electric charge, it is known as electrical conduction while when it relates to thermal energy, it is known as heat conduction.

A teacher is discussing several scenarios in the topic of gas law s. Which of the following scenarios will the initial pressure
sukhopar [10]

The scenario whereby the initial pressure is equal to the final pressure is : ( A ) A balloon filled with air is heated from 300k to 600k, causing it to expand and double in size.

Gay Lussac's law

Gay Lussac's law states that at constant pressure, the volume of gas is directly proportional to the change in temperature. i.e. V ∝ T. From scenario 1 the change in temperature from 300 K to 600 K shows a 100% increase in temperature which corresponds with the expansion and size doubling of the volume of gas.

Hence we can conclude that The scenario whereby the initial pressure is equal to the final pressure is : ( A ) A balloon filled with air is heated from 300k to 600k, causing it to expand and double in size.
