If you put the temperture as a function of time, every passing hour or minute the tempurture decreases resulting in a decrease in your function.
This can also be shown in a graph were the tempuerture is the x and the time is the y. Each hour that passes the temputure goes down until night falls and the temputure reaches a constant rate of tempurture
