To be perpendicular the product of the two slopes must equal -1.

2m/5=-1

2m=-5

m=-2.5

since y=mx+b we have so far

y=-2.5x+b, using point (-3,4) we can solve for b

4=-2.5(-3)+b

4=7.5+b

b=-3.5 so

y=-2.5x-3.5  We can multiply the whole equation by two so that the coefficients are integers...

2y=-5x-7  add 5x to both sides

5x-2y=-7

How do you solve the equation -3 1/3 = -1/2g
Arturiano [62]

g=\frac{20}{3}

Solution:

Given expression is -3\frac{1}{3}=\frac{-1}{2}g.

To solve the given expression:

Let us first convert the mixed fraction into improper fraction.

⇒ -3\frac{1}{3}=\frac{-1}{2}g

⇒ -\frac{(3\times 3 )+1}{3}=\frac{-1}{2}g

⇒ -\frac{10}{3}=\frac{-1}{2}g

Do cross multiply on both sides of the equation.

⇒ -10\times2=(-1\times3)g

⇒ -20 = -3g

⇒ \frac{-20}{-3}=g

Both minus in the numerator and denominator are cancelled.

⇒ \frac{20}{3}=g

Hence, g=\frac{20}{3}.

Kate bad $2,251 in here bank account. Currently, she has $1,958 in her account. What is the approximate percent of decrease in h
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

The answer is: 13%.

Step-by-step explanation:

At first, Kate had $2,251. Then her new balance was $1,958. The difference between the two is the amount spent:

$2,251 - $1,958 = $293.

The difference is the ratio of the amount spent divided by the original amount, to provide the decrease:

$293 / $2,251 = .13 or 13% (Approximately)

Hope this helps! Have a great day!
