Answer: 3.5\times 10^{-4}

Explanation:

To calculate the moles, we use the equation:

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}

Given mass of theobromine (C_7H_8N_4O_2) = 0.064 g

Molar mass of theobromine (C_7H_8N_4O_2)=12\times 7+1\times 8+14\times 4+16\times 2=180 g

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{0.064g}{180g/mol}=3.5\times 10^{-4}moles

If the problem is finding the moles of theobromine, then the 43 g chocolate is not really a necessary information. All you have to do is convert 0.064 g of theobromine to moles using molar mass. The molar mass of theobromine is 180.164 g/mol. So,

0.064 g (1 mol / 180.164 g) = 3.6 x10^-4 moles

The answer would be letter A or the first choice :)

Consider the rate law below.
Serga [27]

C. quadruples the rate

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

The rate law :

R=k[A]²

Required

The rate

Solution

There are several factors that influence reaction kinetics :

  • 1. Concentration
  • 2. Surface area
  • 3. Temperature
  • 4. Catalyst
  • 5. Pressure
  • 6. Stirring

The rate is proportional to the concentration.

If the concentration increased, the reaction rate will increase

The reaction is second-order overall(The exponent is 2)

The concentration of A is doubled, the reaction rate will increase :

r = k[A]² ⇒ r= k[2A]²⇒r=4k[A]²

<em>The reaction rate will quadruple.</em>

Calculate the amount in grams of Na2CO3 needed in a reaction with HCl to produce 120g NaCl?
klemol [59]
The balanced chemical reaction is written as :

Na2CO3<span> + 2HCl === 2NaCl + H2O + CO2
</span>
We are given the amount of NaCl to be produced from the reaction. This will be the starting point for the calculations. We do as follows:

120 g NaCl ( 1 mol / 58.44 g) ( 1 mol Na2CO3 / 2 mol NaCl)( 105.99 g / 1 mol ) = 1108.82 g Na2CO3 needed
