At a local grocery store, apples cost $0.50 each and bananas cost $0.30 each. The expression 0.50x + 0.30y can be used to find t

(1) x represents the number of apples bought, y represents the number of bananas.

(2) each term represents the total costs of a given fruit, so 0.50x is the total cost of apples and 0.30y is total cost of bananas.

(3) The coefficients are unit prices: coefficient 0.50 is the price of 1 apple, 0.30 is the price of 1 banana.

By substitution,

1.5x - 6 = -4.5x + 21

6x = 27

x = 4.5

Hence, y = 1.5(4.5) - 6 = 0.75

Thee calculation of property tax is based on the:
Andreas93 [3]
The property taxes that are be<span>ing accumulated by the states and the federal governments serve as a major source of income. In most cases, these taxes come in the form of a percentage, where many different councils, boards and legislatures will decide the appropriate amount of tax revenue that needs to be raised. They will have a hearing on the budget to decide the amount of money that will be needed so that the government can cover its expenses with no financial challenges in the year ahead. The services that are normally funded by property taxes include: education, emergency services, transportation, libraries and parks as well as different recreational activities.

</span>The way that property taxes are calculated would be through the use of the mill levy<span> and the assessed property value.

Leto [7]

Answer:

expressions which represent exponential decay:

A. 900(0.05)^t

B. 700(0.9)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

Exponential decay functions has the next form:

y = ab^x

where b < 1

A. 900(0.05)^t , a = 900, b = 0.05, the variable is t instead of x. 0.05 < 1, then it represents exponential decay

B. 700(0.9)^x , a = 700, b = 0.9 < 1, then it represents exponential decay

C. 53(1.75)^(0.3x) =  53(1.75)^(0.3)(1.75)^x, a =  53(1.75)^(0.3), b = 1.75 > 1, then it doesn't represent exponential decay

D. 90(1.2)^t, a = 90, b = 1.2 > 1,  then it doesn't represent exponential decay. (the variable is t instead of x)

E. .300(2.4)^(1.2y)  = 300(2.4)^(1.2)(2.4)^y, a = 300(2.4)^(1.2),  b = 2.4 > 1, then it doesn't represent exponential decay. (the variable is y instead of x)

F. 2x² + 9 , this is a quadratic function,  then it doesn't represent exponential decay.

G. 18 – 3y, this is a linear function,  then it doesn't represent exponential decay.
