When q = M* C *ΔT

we can get the mass using the given volume & density:

M = volume * density

   = 1.3 L * 1g/ml * 1000mL1L

   = 1300 g
and when the  specific heat of water = 4.18J/g.°C

now, by substitution:

∴ q = 1300g * 4.18J/g.°C * (100-24)

   = 412984 J or 412.984 KJ

A sample of potassium nitrate (49.0 g) is dissolved in 101 g of water at 100 °C, with precautions taken to avoid evaporation of
kvasek [131]

Answer:

Saturated solution

Explanation:

Saturated solution is the solution in which no more solute can be dissolved at a particular temperature.

A amount of the solute, potassium nitrate is dissolved at elevated temperature and on cooling, it precipitates. It means that the solution is saturated at that temperature. <u>Precipitation of the solute at lower temperature indicates that the solution is saturated solution.</u>

What must be changed, temperature or heat energy, during condensation explain in 2-3 sentences
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

Change occur in heat energy.

Explanation:

Change occur in the heat energy of molecules during condensation process. The molecules of gas releases its heat energy and converted into liquid state. With this heat energy, they are active and escape from each other but when the heat energy is removed from them, the attractive forces between these gas molecules are formed which convert them into liquid state so change in heat energy occur in the condensation process.

Consider the reaction CaCN2 + 3 H2O → CaCO3 + 2 NH3 . This reaction has a 75.6% yield. How many moles of CaCN2 are needed to obt
kherson [118]

Answer: Thus 0.724 mol of CaCN_2 are needed to obtain 18.6 g of NH_3

Explanation:

To calculate the moles :

\text{Moles of solute}=\frac{\text{given mass}}{\text{Molar Mass}}

\text{Moles of} NH_3=\frac{18.6g}{17g/mol}=1.09moles

CaCN_2+3H_2O\rightarrow CaCO_3+2NH_3

According to stoichiometry :

2 moles of NH_3 are produced by = 1 mole of CaCN_2

Thus 1.09 moles of NH_3 will be produced by =\frac{1}{2}\times 1.09=0.545moles  of CaCN_2

But as yield of reaction is 75.6 %, the amount of CaCN_2 needed is =\frac{0.545}{75.6}\times 100=0.724

Thus 0.724 mol of CaCN_2 are needed to obtain 18.6 g of NH_3
