A flat uniform circular disk (radius = 2.00 m, mass= 100

Physics

ExtremeBDS [4]3 years ago
7 0

Answer:

0.5 rad / s

Explanation:

Moment of inertia of the disk I₁ = 1/2 MR²

M is mass of the disc and R is radius

Putting the values in the formula

Moment of inertia of the disc I₁ = 1/2 x 100 x 2 x 2

= 200 kgm²

Moment of inertia of man about the axis of rotation of disc

mass x( distance from axis )²

I₂ = 40 x 1.25²

= 62.5 kgm²

Let ω₁ and ω₂ be the angular speed of disc and man about the axis

ω₂ = tangential speed / radius of circular path

= 2 /1.25 rad / s

= 1.6 rad /s

ω₁ = ?

Applying conservation of angular moment ( no external torque is acting on the disc )

I₁ω₁ = I₂ω₂

200 X ω₁ = 62.5 X 1.6

ω₁ = 0.5 rad / s

B. The Earth radiates an amount of energy into space equal to the amount it receives.

Part of the solar energy is reflected by the Earth into space, this is known as albedo. The other part of the energy radiated by the Earth in the form of infrared radiation, is absorbed by the greenhouse gases, which cause most of this infrared radiation to be emitted into space. Therefore, the net flow of energy is zero.

What is 16.558 m/s rounded to three significant figures?
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

Option C. 16.6 m/s

Explanation:

To round this 16.558 m/s to 3sf, we need to count the number beginning from 1. When we get to the 3rd number( ie 5), we'll examine the fourth number(i.e 5)to see if it less than five or greater. If it less than five, then we'll discard it. But if it five or greater, we'll approximate it and add it to the 3rd number.

So.

16.558 m/s = 16.6m/s to 3sf

What's the dielectric constant of ceramic?
A. 1,200
B. 900
C. 80
D. 7.500
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

7.5

Explanation:

The dielectric constant of ceramics is about 7.5.

The dielectric constant of a substance is the ratio of the electric permeability of a substance to the electric permeability of free space.

Dielectric constant gives a good overview about the ability of substance to store charges compared to another.

Most substances have their electric constant and they suggest the ease by which they can store electrical energy. This is very important in developing capacitors.

A 2.00-kg ball is moving at 2.20 m/s toward the right. It collides elastically with a 4.00-kg ball that is initially at rest. 1)
loris [4]
Elastic collision is when kinetic energy before = kinetic energy after

Ek= 1/2mv^2

total before
Ek=1/2(2)(2.2^2) = 4.84 J

total after
Ek= 1/2(2+4)(v^2) = 3v^2

Before = after
4.84=3v^2 | divide by 3
121/75 = v^2 | square root both sides
v=1.27 m/s
