Please compare and contrast these two leaders!
Law Incorporation [45]

They are alike  in the sense that they are advocates of human rights.  Óscar Arias Sánchez  was born in Costa Rica. He did many things to help his people. He was President of Costa Rica from 1986 to 1990 and from 2006 to 2010. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 for his efforts to end the Central American crisis.  He is also a recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism and a trustee of Economists for Peace and Security. In 2003, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Criminal Court's Trust Fund for Victims.

Ali lenin Aguileras is a Venezuelan lawyer, entrepreneur, and a Strategic Business Development Consultant.  Aguileras has been working as a lawyer and Strategic Business Consultant for more than 20 years.  He received his J.D. degree with honors from the University Santa Maria Law School in 1993. in 2002 he obtained from University of Miami his Master of Science, Major in Professional Management, then in 2004, also from University of Miami, he became Master of Business Administration.

They both help their people. Arias received the 1987 Nobel Peace Prize with the help of John Biehl, his peer in England, and Rodrigo Madrigal Nieto for his work towards the signing of the Esquipulas II Accords which led to the ending of many conflicts in central America. Ali Lenin Aguilera has worked a lawyer for about 20 years helping business in strategic areas and good businesses create opportunities for people.

They mainly tried to help their people. However, there may always be people who say the contrary specially opposition leaders.

Selecting well a leader is crucial because if countries have bad rulers the consequences are terrible. Venezuela is a good example of bad public policy. Many people are emigrating from Venezuela and people don't have enough, basic health or food or basic services.

What happened to the gold standard in 1933?
MrMuchimi
The US currency went off the gold standard.

The Great Depression was causing people to hoard gold. So using gold to back the dollar was no longer feasible because gold was untenable. Franklin Roosevelt made the decision to take the US off of gold.
