I'm pretty sure it's "water because it is a very polar compound" since I know ethyl alcohol DOES dissolve in water and by using this knowledge I just used the process of elimination.

I know that doesn't help very much though, good luck.

Ethyl Alcohol because it has a much larger volume that water!

What is the mass of 0.0490 mole of potassium sulfate?
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

8.54g

Explanation:

we know that: n=m/Mm

where:

  • n represents moles
  • m represent mass
  • and Mm represents molar mass

rearrange for m: m= n x Mm

m= 0.0490mol x 174.259g/mol

m= 8.54g

Amateur radio operators in the United States can transmit on several bands. One of those bands consists of radio waves with a wa
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

1.5×10⁷ Hz

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Wavelength of radio wave (λ) = 20 m

Frequency (f) =?

Frequency and wavelength of a wave are related by the following equation:

v = λf

Where:

'v' is the velocity of electromagnetic wave.

'λ' is the wavelength

'f' is the frequency.

With the above formula, we can obtain the frequency of the radio wave as illustrated below:

Wavelength of radio wave (λ) = 20 m

Velocity (v) = 3×10⁸ m/s

Frequency (f) =?

v = λf

3×10⁸ = 20 × f

Divide both side by 20

f = 3×10⁸ / 20

f = 1.5×10⁷ Hz

Thus the frequency of the radio wave is 1.5×10⁷ Hz

Question 25 of 25
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

D. 37 reports

Explanation:

Last month, he wrote 9 reports, and this month he wrote 28 reports. To find how many he wrote over the past two months, add his reports from last month and this month.

last month + this month

9 reports +28 reports

Solid lithium hydroxide is used to "scrub" CO2 from the air inspacecraft and submarines; it reacts with the CO2 to produce lithi
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

223 L

Explanation:

Step 1: Write the balanced equation.

2 LiOH + CO₂ = Li₂CO₃ + H₂O

Step 2: Calculate the moles corresponding to 440 g of LiOH

The molar mass of LiOH is 23.95 g/mol.

440 g × (1 mol/23.95 g) = 18.4 mol

Step 3: Calculate the moles of CO₂ that react with 18.4 moles of LiOH

The molar ratio of LiOH to CO₂ is 2:1. The reacting moles of CO₂ are 1/2 × 18.4 mol = 9.20 mol.

Step 4: Convert 20°C to Kelvin

K = °C + 273.15 = 20 + 273.15 = 293 K

Step 5: Convert 753 torr to atm

753 torr × (1 atm/760 torr) = 0.991 atm

Step 6: Calculate the volume of CO₂

We will use the ideal gas equation.

P × V = n × R × T

V = n × R × T / P

V = 9.20 mol × (0.0821 atm.L/mol.K) × 293 K / 0.991 atm

V = 223 L
