First, you make a force body diagram to illustrate the problem. Then, apply Newton's laws of motion.

Summation of forces along the y-direction:

F = 0 (bodies at equilibrium) = Normal force - weight*cos45 = 0
Normal force = wcos45

Summation of forcesalong the x-direction:

F = 0 (bodies at equilibrium) = Frictional force - weight*sin45 = 0
x*Normal force - weight*sin45 = 0   (let x be the min coeff of static friction)
x*weight*cos45 = weight*sin 45
x = sin45/cos45 = 1

Therefore, the minimum coefficient of static friction must be 1.

A student throws a set of keys vertically upward to his fraternity brother, who is in a window 3.60 m above. The brother's outst
Contact [7]

Answer:

v_{i}=10.10 m/s

Explanation:

The equation of the position is:

y=y_{i}+v_{i}t-0.5gt^{2}

Where:

v(i) is the initial velocity

The initial position y(i) will be zero and the final position y = 3.60 m.

So, we just need to solve this equation for v(i).

v_{i}=\frac{y+0.5gt^{2}}{t}

v_{i}=\frac{3.6+0.5*9.81*1.6^{2}}{1.6}

v_{i}=10.10 m/s

Therefore, the initial velocity is 10.10 m/s upwards.

I hope it helps you!

Use heavy-duty grounded extension cords. Heavy-duty cords will have a marking on the insulation such as ___.
Shalnov [3]

Heavy-duty cords will have a marking on the insulation such as letters which indicates its properties.

<h3>What are Heavy duty cords?</h3>

Heavy duty cords comprises of insulators which helps prevent cases of electric shock. There are usually letters written on them which indicates the nature of insulation and other properties.

For example, the  "S" in "SO" stands for "Extra Hard Service and the "O" stands for oil resistant.
