Answer:

Let the  number of 30 day period be = p

Part A:

50-2p=40-1.5p

=> 50-40=2p-1.5p

=> 10=0.5p

p = 20

So, there will be 20 30-day periods until the cards will be equal in value.

Part B:

Value of each card will be :

50-2p=40-1.5p

=> 50-2(20)=40-1.5(20)

=> 50-40=40-30

=> 10 = 10

The answer is $10.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

d=days not used

50-2d  =  40-1.5d

subract 40 each side

10-2d =1.5d

10= 0.5d

20=d

After 20 days the value of the gift  cards will be equal.

20*2=40      50-40=10 ($10)

20*1.5=30     40-30=10 ($10)

each card will have a value of $10  after 20 days,when both cards have equal value

Answer : 40,000

Explanation : when multiplying 10 with 4,000 we get

4000 X 10 = 40,000.

As we multiply, using the chart there are 4 thousand present in the row of thousand column. When we multiply that with 10 it gets shifted to left and becomes 40,000.
