Gasses contain highly energetic particles which tend to spread out to fill the room/ container they are in. Often when a smell rises, there is a high concentration of gas molecules in the rising smell. Here diffusion occurs where the molecules spread out randomly moving from an area of high concentration of gas molecules to areas of low gas molecules.

Answer:

The correct answer is diffusion.

Explanation:

Diffusion refers to the net movements of atoms or molecules from a place of high chemical potential or higher concentration to a place of low chemical potential or lower concentration. Diffusion takes place due to a gradient in chemical potential of the diffusing species.

One smells popcorn after walking into a movie theater is because of the phenomenon of diffusion. The smells travel in the air by diffusion. As molecules are always traveling, the tiny molecules from popcorn travel through the air all through the theater and enter into the noses.

A solution of NaF is added dropwise to a solution that is 0.0144 M in Ba2+. When the concentration of F- exceeds ________ M, BaF
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

When the concentration of F- exceeds 0.0109 M, BaF2 will precipitate.

Explanation:

Ba²⁺(aq) + 2 F⁻(aq) <----> BaF₂(s)

When BaF₂ precipitates, the Ksp relation is given by

Ksp = [Ba²⁺] [F⁻]²

[Ba²⁺] = 0.0144 M

[F⁻] = ?

Ksp = (1.7 × 10⁻⁶)

1.7 × 10⁻⁶ = (0.0144) [F⁻]²

[F⁻]² = (1.7 × 10⁻⁶)/0.0144 = 0.0001180555

[F⁻] = √0.0001180555 = 0.01086 M = 0.0109 M

Hope this Helps!!!

How did the development of the earliest idea about atoms differ from the later work of scientists?
gtnhenbr [62]

The correct answer is C. It was based on the thoughts of an early philosopher.

Explanation:

An atom is a basic and smallest unit that composes matter and that determine the properties of elements. Regarding the development of ideas related to atoms these did not begin in science but in philosophy; indeed the first person that proposed matter or elements were composed of certain smaller units was the philosophers Leucippus and his pupil Democritus in Ancient Greece, who stated atoms were eternal, infinite and defined the qualities of an object, idea that was supported by other Greek philosophers. But it was not until 16th and 17th centuries after the Middle Ages that the term re-emerged and until the 19th century it was officially proposed and there were experiments by scientists that later became a theory. Therefore, the development of the earliest idea about attoms differs from later work of scientists is that the earliest idea was based on the thoughts of an early philosopher.
