Answer:

Tension in the leather string is T = 25.6 N

Explanation:

As we know that belt is revolving in horizontal circle

So the tension force in the belt will provide the required centripetal force

So we will have

T = \frac{mv^2}{L}

now we have

v = 8 m/s

L = 1.25 m

m = 0.5 kg

so we have

T = \frac{0.5(8^2)}{1.25}

T = 25.6 N

A research vessel is mapping the bottom of the ocean using sonar. It emits a short sound pulse called "ping" downward. The frequ
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

d = 4180.3m

wavelengt of sound is 0.251m

Explanation:

Given that

frequency of the sound is 5920 Hz

v=1485m/s

t=5.63s

let d represent distance from the vessel to the ocean bottom.

an echo travels a distance equivalent to 2d, that is to and fro after it reflects from the obstacle.

velocity=\frac{distance}{time}\\\\ v=\frac{2d}{t} \\\\vt=2d\\\\d=\frac{vt}{2}

d=\frac{1485*5.63}{2}\\d= 4180.3m

wavelengt of sound is \lambda = v/f

= (1485)/(5920)

= 0.251 m

What is the combined resistance for two resistors with resistances of 10 Ohms and 23.7 Ohms if they are connected in series
Agata [3.3K]

Answer: 33.7Ω

Explanation:

Since there are two resistors connected in series, the total resistance (Rtotal) of the circuit is the sum of each resistance.

i.e Rtotal = R1 + R2

R1 = 10Ω

R2 = 23.7Ω

Hence, Rtotal = 10Ω + 23.7Ω

Rtotal = 33.7Ω

Thus, the combined resistance for two resistors is 33.7Ω
