Can someone show me a step by step with the answer?
Georgia [21]

Answer:

6 mols HCl

Explanation:

(I'm an AP chemistry student but not perfect at this stuff)

you can use the Molarity=Moles/L equation here:

(6M)=(moles HCl)/(1L)

divide by 1 on both sides to isolate the moles of HCl

this gets you 6 moles HCl.

Again I'm just a student so my answer might be wrong, but this question should just require the M=mols/L equation :).

A 171 g sample of tetrafluoromethane (CF4) contains 90 g of carbon. What is the mass percent of fluorine in the compound?
julia-pushkina [17]
To find the mass percent of fluorine in the compound, you must first determine the mass in g of fluorine in the compound. We do this by subtracting the mass of carbon from the total mass of the sample. From this we get 171 - 90 = 81g of fluorine in CF4 sample. Now to get the mass percent, we divide the fluorine mass by the sample mass to get the percent mass. 81/171 = .4737 which multiplied by 100 to get percentage give 47.37%.

What pressure in kPa will be exerted by 4.78 grams of oxygen gas in a 2.5 liter container at 20 degrees celsius ? just confused
rosijanka [135]
Use number of mole=mass (in grams) divided by molar mass
AKA n=m/Mr
->Using the mass (4.78g) given to you until he question. Then put the number of mole in pV=nRT but rearrange to
p=nRT divided by volume (V).
AKA p=nRT/V
Also don't forget to convert your temperature to Kelvins (add 273 to your temperature)
