If you add or subtract a number from left to right, the other add or subtract needs to be right to left. Vise versa.
-7 +2x = -6x -71
+7 +6x = +6x +7

Then you will get: <em>-8x = -64</em>
Because X is not by itself, you want to divide the number by itself cancel out ONLY the number and not X. When you cancel out a number, it has to be applied to the whole equation and thus you will get -64/-8 = Answer
