How many moles of chlorine gas and 120°C and 33.3 ATM would occupy a vessel of 12 L?

Chemistry

Answer:

12.387 moles

Explanation:

We are given;

Temperature of chlorine, T = 120°C

But, K = °C + 273.15

Therefore, T = 393.15 K

Pressure, P = 33.3 Atm

Volume, V = 12 L

We are required to calculate the number of moles of chlorine gas,

To find the number of moles we are going to use the ideal gas equation;

PV = nRT

R is the ideal gas constant, 0.082057 L.atm/mol.K

Therefore, rearranging the formula;

n = PV÷RT

Hence;

n = (33.3 atm × 12 L) ÷ (0.082057 × 393.15 K)

 = 12.387 moles

Therefore, the number of moles of chlorine are 12.387 moles

Answer:

D.25cm

Explanation:

Just use a ratio between the two cells...

If... 12 micrometres = 15 cm

then.. 20 micrometres = ?

Then you divide....20 ÷ 12 = 5/3

then you multiply.... 5/3 × 15

Then you obtain 25cm

What reagent separates Ag+ from Cu+ and Cu2+ from Bi3+? Explain the chemistry.
r-ruslan [8.4K]
to separate Ag+ from Cu2+___________________________

treat the solution of Ag+ and Cu2+ with cold dilute HCl

Ag2+ will get precipitated as AgCl (white colour precipitate)
[Ksp of 1st group cation chlorides are low]

filter the solution and remove the precipitate

then pass H2S through the already acidified solution

Cu2+ will get precipitated as CuS (Black color precipitate)
[Ksp of 2nd group cation sulphides are low]

to separate Cu2+ from Bi3+______________________________

add a few drops of dilute HCl into the solution of Cu2+ and Bi3+

BiCl3 is formed ( CuCl doesnt form because because Ksp value of BiCl3 is less than Ksp value of CuCl)

then dilute the solution by adding water

BiCl3 react with water and forms BiOCl and get precipitated (white color precipitate)

filter the solution and remove the precipitate

then pass H2S through the already acidified solution

Cu2+ will get precipitated as CuS (Black color precipitate)
[Ksp of 2nd group cation sulfides are low]

Chrysanthenone is an unsaturated ketone. If Chrysanthenone has M+ = 150 and contains 2 double bond(s) and 2 ring(s); what is its
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

the Molecular formula will be; C10H14O

Explanation:

Given the data in the question;

Chrysanthenone is an unsaturated ketone,

it has M+ = 150 and contains 2 double bond(s) and 2 ring(s).

molecular formula = ?

we know that ketone contain 1 oxygen and mass of oxygen is 16

so mass of the C and H remaining will be;

⇒ 150 - 16 = 134

Now we determine the number of C atoms;

⇒ 134 / 13 = 10

hydrocarbon with 10 hydrogen atom have CnH2n+2 means

⇒ ( 10 × 2 ) +2 = 22 hydrogens

But then we have 3 unsaturation meaning 6 hydrogens less and also we have ring meaning 2 more hydrogens

⇒ 22 - 6 - 2 = 14

Hence the Molecular formula will be; C10H14O
