Giving max amount of points, I just need this answered. It's a K12 assignment. Using the room temperature line (orange line) and

your periodic table, make lists that identify the state of matter (gas, liquid, or solid) in which each element you plotted exists at room temperature. Explain your answers.
Please help. I know someone out there has a graph and has probably done this. :( I have like 50 minutes and this is the last question.

There are billions of stars in the known universe. None of them seem to be as bright as the Sun. Which statement gives the best
gogolik [260]

Answer:

The answer is D. The Sun is the closest star to Earth and so it seems brighter than distant stars that have much greater absolute brightness.

Explanation: Stars like red super giants like beetleguise are way brighter and bigger than the sun, but the sun is closest to the earth. It is only in its main sequence stage but seems bright because of its short distance from the sun( 93 million miles).

Twelve grams of carbon combine chemically with 4 grams of hydrogen to produce a
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

Empirical Formula = C₁H₄ or CH₄

Explanation:

Data Given:

                     Mass of C = 12.0 g

                     Mass of H = 4 g

Step 1: Calculate Moles of each Element;

                     Moles of C = Mass of C ÷ At.Mass of C

                     Moles of C = 12.0 ÷ 12.0

                     Moles of C = 1.0 mol

                     Moles of H = Mass of H ÷ At.Mass of H

                     Moles of H = 4.0 ÷ 1.0

                     Moles of H = 4.0 mol

                     Moles of O = %O ÷ At.Mass of O

                     Moles of O = 53.924 ÷ 16.0

                     Moles of O = 3.370 mol

Step 2: Find out mole ratio and simplify it;

                             C H

                            1.0 4.0

                         1.0/1.0 4.0/1.0

                              1 4

Hence,

Empirical Formula = C₁H₄ or CH₄

How is a light bulb related to radiation?
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

As light is emitted from the filament, the energy in the metal is replaced as lightbulbs absorb background radiation. This prevents the filament from burning out quickly but the radiation cannot be used as power so electricity is still required for the lightbulb to work.

What is the H-C-H bond angle predicted by Lewis for CH3+?
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

bond angle = 120 °

Explanation:

Lewis structure is used to represent the arrangement of the electrons around the atom in a molecule. The electrons are shown by dots and the bonding electrons are shown by line between the two atoms.

For CH_{3}^+,

The number of valence electrons = (4\times 1)+(1\times 3)-1 = 6

The skeleton structure of the compound is in which one C molecule act as a central atom and is bonded to the three H with one sigma bond each.

Number of valence electrons used in skeletal structure = 6

So,

Remaining valence electrons = 0

The Lewis structure of the compound is shown below:

       H

        :

      C⁺

  : :

H H

The geometry is trigonal planar which has an angle of 120 °.
