A feather is dropped on the moon from the height of 1.4m. The acceleration of gravity on the moon is 1.67ms-1. Determine the tim
Zinaida [17]

1.3s

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Height = 1.4m

Gravity on moon = 1.67ms⁻¹

Unknown:

Time for feather to fall = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, we are going to use one of the motion equation that relates time, gravity and height.

    H = ut + \frac{1}{2} g t^{2}

Sine the body was dropped from rest, initial velocity is zero;

 H = height

  u = initial velocity

  t = time

  g = acceleration due to gravity

since u = 0;

H = \frac{1}{2} g t^{2}

 1.4 = \frac{1}{2} x 1.67 x t²

  t = 1.3s

How are the movements of the Moon in the sky and Earth's rotation about its own axis related? A) The Moon appears to move from E
JulsSmile [24]

The moon orbits quite fast: it moves about 0.5 degrees per hour in the sky. In 24 hours it moves 13 degrees. The moon's observed motion eastward results from its physical motion of the moon along its orbit around the Earth. so I think its A .
