The question is asking to calculate the lewis structure for the anion -CH2CN and abse on my research, Lewis structure is a simple way to keep track of bonding electrons, non-bonding electrons, and formal charges in molecules. I hope you are satisfied with my answer and feel free to ask for more

Answer :  The Lewis-dot structure of ^-CH_2CN is shown below.

Explanation :

Lewis-dot structure : It shows the bonding between the atoms of a molecule and it also shows the unpaired electrons present in the molecule.

In the Lewis-dot structure the valance electrons are shown by 'dot'.

The given molecule is, ^-CH_2CN

As we know that carbon has '4' valence electrons, hydrogen has '1' valence electron and nitrogen has '5' valence electrons.

Therefore, the total number of valence electrons in ^-CH_2CN = 4 + 2(1) + 4 + 5 + 1 = 16

According to Lewis-dot structure, there are 12 number of bonding electrons and 4 number of non-bonding electrons.

In this molecule, (CN) is cyanide group in which carbon bonded to the nitrogen by triple bond.

Hence, the Lewis-dot structure of ^-CH_2CN is shown below.

MAXImum [283]

Answer:

Oxidation–reduction or redox reactions are reactions that involve the transfer of electrons between chemical species (check out this article on redox reactions if you want a refresher!). The equations for oxidation-reduction reactions must be balanced for both mass and charge, which can make them challenging to balance by inspection alone. In this article, we’ll learn about the half-reaction method of balancing, a helpful procedure for balancing the equations of redox reactions occurring in aqueous solution.

Explanation:
A solid particles present in liquids can be separated from liquid by utilizing a membrane having pores large enough to allow the liquid molecules to pass through and small enough to stop the solid particles from crossing.
