Happy New Year from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

Part A:

 point   \ coordinates \ quadrant:

 I            (1,2)                  1

 L           (-4,2)                2

 K          (-4,0)                does not belong to any quadrant

 J           (3,-1)                4

 M         (4,-4)                4

Part B:

Point K = (-4,0) lies on the x-axis so reflecting it about the x-axis gives the  same point. In other words, the "reflected" point has coordinates  (-4,0)

Part C:

L = (-4,2). Reflecting it about the y-axis gives the point (4,2)

Thank you,

MrB

Answer:

it would stay the same because the point is already on the x- axis therefore it cannot reflect about it.

How do I figure out b,c, and d
Andrews [41]

Answer:

  (b)  domain: (-∞, ∞)

  (c)  f(x) = 3 only at x=1

  (d)  range: (-∞, 3]

Step-by-step explanation:

(b) The domain is the horizontal extent of the region over which the function is defined. The function f(x) is defined for all x, from -∞ to +∞. The arrowheads on the ends of the graph mean the graph extends to infinity in x and y directions from those points (y goes to -∞, while x goes to ±∞).

__

(c) Locate the horizontal grid line y=3 on the graph. Find all the points where it intersects the graph. There is only one: (1, 3). That is, x=1 is the only x-value for which f(x) = 3.

__

(d) The range of the function is its vertical extent. The graph of f(x) extends from y = -∞ up to y = 3, so that is the range.

The price of Stock A at 9 A.M. was $12.79 Since then, the price has been increasing at the rate of $0.11 each hour. At noon t
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

2.174 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of hours be represented as:

x

The price of Stock A at 9 A.M. was $12.79 Since then, the price has been increasing at the rate of $0.11 each hour.

$12.79 + $0.11 × x

12.79 + 0.11x

At noon the price of Stock B was $13.29 It begins to decrease at the rate of $0.12 each hour.

$13.29 - $0.12× x

13.29 - 0.12x

Equating both equations together

Stock A = Stock B

12.79 + 0.11x = 13.29 - 0.12x

Collecting like terms

0.11x + 0.12x = 13.29 - 12.79

0.23x = 0.5

x = 0.5/0.23

x = 2.1739130435 hours

x = Approximately = 2.174 hours

If the two rates continue, the number of hours that the prices of the two stocks will be the same is 2.174 hours
