Translate each English sentence into a logical expression using the propositional variables defined below. Then negate the entir

e logical expression using parentheses and the negation operation. Apply De Morgan's law to the resulting expression and translate the final logical expression back into English. p: the applicant has written permission from his parents e: the applicant is at least 18 years old s: the applicant is at least 16 years old (a) The applicant has written permission from his parents and is at least 16 years old. Answer:

Follows are the solution to this question:

Step-by-step explanation:

In point a:

If the applicant's parents provide written permission and are 16 years old or older.

Solution:

Logical term: p^s

Through parentheses or negation, deny the whole logical expression. e.g.

\to \sim p^s

by using the rule of DeMorgan's:

\to \sim p \ v  \ \sim s \\

The following logical expression is the English phrase:

\text{The applicant not has written permission from his parents or is at most 15 years old}.

In point b:

A parent of the applicant has submitted approved permission or the age of 18 years or older.

Logical expression:p \ v \ e

through brackets or negation, refute the entire logical expression.

\to \sim (p\  v \ e)

Apply DeMorgan's law:

\to  \sim p ^ {\sim e}

by using the rule of DeMorgan's:

The following logical expression is the English phrase:

\text{The applicant not has written permission from his parents and is at most 17 years old}.

If Nathan does 9 minutes of push ups for 3 days, that's 9 divided by 3, which is 3. (9/3=3)  So nathan does 3 minutes of push ups each day, so just multiply each day by 3 to find the correlation between the two.

The Table should look like this:

# of days      # of Minutes
1                     3
2                     6
3                     9
4                     12
5                     15
6                     18

Find the four arithmetic means between -21 and -36.
lara31 [8.8K]
The numbers given in the problem above are part of an arithmetic sequence with first and sixth terms equal to -21 and -36, respectively. Firstly, calculate for the common difference (d).

                                    d = (-36 - -21) / (6 - 1) = -3

The arithmetic mean is calculated by adding -3 to the term prior to it.

            a2 = -21 + -3 = -24               a3 = -24 + -3 = -27
            a4 = -27 + -3 = -30               a5 = -30 + -3 = -33

Thus the four arithmetic means are -24, -27, -30, and -33.

What is -7+(-2)? I got nine but I'm not sure if that's correct.
horrorfan [7]
It's actually (-9)... think of it as a hot air balloon, the positivies being balloons and the negatives being sandbags or weights.
You have 7 sandbags/weights and add 9 more sandbags/weights, causing u to go lower, therefore, *negative* 9
Hope that helped! :))

Find an equation of the line passing through the given points. Use function notation to write the equation. (3,8) and (4,13
Olegator [25]

Answer:

f(x)=5x-7

Step-by-step explanation:

The given line passes through the points;

(x_1,y_1)=(3,8)

and

(x_2,y_2)=(4,13)

Let us find the slope using;

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

m=\frac{13-8}{4-3}

m=\frac{5}{1}=5

The equation is given by;

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

We substitute the values into the formula to obtain;

y-8=5(x-3)

y=5x-15+8

y=5x-7

There the equation of the line is

f(x)=5x-7
