Charles Gas Law problem: the temperature inside my refrigerator is about 4 degrees Celsius. If I place a balloon in my fridge th

at initially has temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a volume of 0.5 liters, what will be the volume of the balloon when it is fully cooled by my refrigerator? The formula is V1/T1 = V2/T2.

T1 = 273 + 22 = 295 Kelvin

T2 = 273 + 4 = 277 Kelvin

V1 = 0.5 liters,

now ,  we just need to input this to the vormula

295/0.5  =  277/V2

590  = 277/V2

V2 = 590/277
     =  2.129 Liter

hope this helps

Noelle walks from point A to point B at an average speed of 5 kilometers per hour. At what speed, in kilometers per hour, must N
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

the speed at which Noelle walks from point B to A, v=7.5 kilometers per hour

Explanation:

In this question we have given

average speed for the entire trip,S = 6 kilometers per hour

Speed of Noelle while walks from point A to B= 5 kilometers per hour

Therefore, time taken by Noelle to walks from point A to B,t_{1}=\frac{d}{5}

Let us consider distance between A and B is d.

Therefore total distance covered in moving from point A to B and then moving back from point B to A, =d+d=2d

Let v be the speed at which Noelle walks from point B to A

Therefore time taken by Noelle to walks from point B to A,t_{2}=\frac{d}{v}

we know that average speed S is given as

S=\frac{x}{t}................(1)

here, x (=2d) is total distance

and t (=t_{1}+t_{2} ) is total time

put values of S, x and t in equation 1

6 =\frac{2d}{\frac{d}{5}+\frac{d}{v}  }

on solving we get,

v = 7.5 kilometers per hour

Therefore, the speed at which Noelle walks from point B to A, v=7.5 kilometers per hour

a ball rolls off a platform that is 12 m above ground. The ball's horizontal velocity as it leaves the platform is 5 m/s. How mu
jonny [76]

The time it takes for the ball to hit the ground from the platform is determined as 1.56 seconds.

<h3>Time of motion of the ball</h3>

The time of motion of the ball is calculated as follows;

h = vt + ¹/₂gt²

where;

  • v is initial vertical velocity  = 0
  • t is time of motion
  • h is height of fall of the ball

h = 0 + ¹/₂gt²

h = ¹/₂gt²

t = √(2h/g)

t = √(2 x 12 / 9.8)

t = 1.56 seconds

Thus, the time it takes for the ball to hit the ground from the platform is determined as 1.56 seconds.

g An Atwood machine has two hanging masses, m1 and m2, attached with a massless string over a pulley. If the pulley spins, rathe
vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

m_1( g -a) = T_1

T_2 = m_2 (a +g)

Explanation:

Given data;

Two hanging mass is given as m1 and m2

Mass of pulley is given as m3

radius of pulley is r

Assuming mass m1 is greater than m2

Take downward direction for mass m1

and upward direction for mass m2

and clockwise direction of pulley is positive

from newton second law on each mass

for Mass m1

\sum F_y = m_1 a_y

m_1 g -T_1 = m_1 a

m_1( g -a) = T_1

for Mass m2

\sum F_y = m_2 a_y

T_2 -  m_2 g = m_2 a

T_2 = m_2 (a +g)

fro pulley

\sum \tau = I\alpha

rT_1 -rT_2 =1/2 m_p r^2 \alpha
