Suppose that 2.14 grams of H2SO4 is mixed with enough water to make 225 mL of solution. Determine the Molarity (M) of the soluti

on. (For this Schoology answer, you do not need to put H2SO4 after the answer, but you always need sig. figs and units!)

Answer:

0.0970 M

Explanation:

Remember this equation:

mol/M x V

Convert it so that you can get M.

M=mol/V

Convert the 2.14 grams of H2SO4 into mols

=0.0218

Convert mL to L

225/1000

=0.225

Plug it in.

0.0218/0.225

=0.0970 M

How many grams of NaCL are required to prepare 50ml of a 2.0 molar solution
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

5.85 gm.

Explanation:

We know that,

Normality =<u> Molarity × Molecular </u><u>weight</u>

Equivalent weight

Since molecular weight of NaCl= equivalent weight = 23+35.5 =58.5

Normality of NaCl= molarity=2

Now,

Normality= <u>weight</u><u> </u><u>in</u><u> </u><u>gram</u><u> </u><u>×</u><u>1000</u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u><u> </u>

Volume ×equivalent weight

Weight in gram is given by,

<u>=</u><u>Normality × Volume × equivalent </u><u>weight</u>

1000

= <u>2× 50 × 58.</u><u>5</u>

1000

=5.85 gm.

Vaselesa [24]

Omitted options and they are

a) pure compound.

b. pure element.

c. pure substance.

d. homogeneous solution.

e. heterogeneous solution

Answer:d. homogeneous solution.

Explanation:

Pure substances or  elements or  compounds have a definite and sharp melting or boiling point, Any substance that is not pure is impure and will have different temperature of melting or boiling points.

To this effect, the clear colorless liquid cannot be a Pure substance, element or compound.

We can therefore say that the clear colorless liquid would be a homogeneous solution because a homogeneous solution is a mixture of constituents which completely mixes together such that each constituents cannot be seen with naked eye, When heated to boiling, each constituent in the mixture will give different boiling points.

A heterogeneous Solution, too is a mixture but contains constituents that can be seen and not a clear colourless solution.

Therefore  On the basis of this information, we can say that the material in the beaker was a Homogeneous solution
