Heat transfer due to conduction will occur only when two bodies which are at different temperature are made in contact with each other.

Now due to this the heat will will from high temperature body to low temperature via the medium between two objects

so here the correct examples of conduction is as following

1.  Ice cream is placed in a bowl chilled to the same temperature.

NOT conduction as they are at same temperature

2. An ice pack is placed on a sprained ankle.

CONDUCTION

3.  A piece of frozen fish is placed in a hot frying pan.

CONDUCTION

4.  A metal pot is held 15 cm above a hot stove.

NOT conduction as they are not in contact

5.  A lizard is lying on a warm rock.

CONDUCTION

What is compression
Talja [164]
The answer is B) region of high pressure in a medium caused by a passing wave

Compression is the forcing of the molecules of a medium, be it water, air, or something else, as a wave passes by. This forcing together of the molecules raises the pressure of the medium in the area that the wave passes through.

A vector has an x-component of length 10 and a y-component of length 3. What is the angle of the vector? (Hint: Use the inverse
Sonja [21]
The vector, the x-component and the y-component form a rectangle triangle where the vector is the hypothenuse and the x and y components are the two sides.
Calling \alpha the angle between the vector and the horizontal direction (x), the two sides are related to \alpha by
\tan \alpha  =  \frac{v_y}{v_x}
where vy and vx are the two components on the y- and x-axis. Using vx=10 and vy=3 we find
\tan \alpha  =  \frac{3}{10} =0.3
And so the angle is
\alpha = \arctan (0.3)=16.7^{\circ}
