A mixture of nitrogen and water vapor at 200oF, 1 atm has the molar analysis of 80% N2, 20% water vapor.a) If the mixture is coo

led at constant pressure, determine the temperature, in oF, at which water vapor begins to condense.b) If the mixture is compressed at constant temperature, determine the pressure, in atm, at which water vapor begins to condense.

Answer:

p_g = 57.64 lb/in^2

Explanation:

Given data:

temperature of water vapor is 200 degree F

pressure is 1 atm

\from the standard water temperature tables , at temperature  200 degree F

p_{sat}  = 11.538 psia

\omega_1 = \frac{0.622 \times 0.2 \times 11.538}{14.7 - (0.2\times 11.538)}

\omega_1 = 0.115

at temp 200 degree F and\omega _1 = 0.115

\phi = 0.255

so relative humidity is given as

\phi = \frac{p_v}{p_g}

0.255 = \frac{14.7}{p_g}

p_g = 57.64 lb/in^2

How does enormous energy get released from the sun
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

By nuclear fission

Explanation:

<u>The sun generates enormous energy through the process of nuclear fusion.</u>

<em>The core or the innermost part of the sun is characterized by high temperature and pressure. These two factors cause the separation of nuclei from electrons and the fusion of hydrogen nuclei to form a  helium atom. </em>

During the fusion process, energy is released.

What is FALSE about E coli and the lac operon? A. The lac Y and lac Z genes are turned off when lactose is present.B. The lac Y
rjkz [21]

Answer: The lac Y and lac Z genes are turned off when lactose is present. Is a false statement about E coli and the lac operon. Therefore the correct option is A.

Explanation:

Escherichia coli is an enteric bacteria that makes use of lactose operon (or lac operon) for its lactose metabolism. The lac operon is made up of three genes which includes lacZ, lacY and Lac A. These genes are expressed only when lactose is present and glucose is absent. Also the lac repressor acts as a lactose sensor while the catabolite activation protein (CAP) acts as a glucose sensor. They help in turning on and off the genes with respect to lactose and glucose levels.

The lac Y and lac Z genes are turned off (not expressed) when glucose is present and lactose absent, but are expressed when glucose is absent and lactose present. Therefore option A is a false statement.
