3. An engine’s fuel is heated to 2,000 K and the surrounding air is 300 K. Calculate the ideal efficiency of the engine. Hint: T
maksim [4K]

Answer: E = 0.85

Therefore the efficiency is: E = 0.85 or 85%

Explanation:

The efficiency (e) of a Carnot engine is defined as the ratio of the work (W) done by the engine to the input heat QH

E = W/QH.

W=QH – QC,

Where Qc is the output heat.

That is,

E=1 - Qc/QH

E =1 - Tc/TH

where Tc for a temperature of the cold reservoir and TH for a temperature of the hot reservoir.

Note: The unit of temperature must be in Kelvin.

Tc = 300K

TH = 2000K

Substituting the values of E, we have;

E = 1 - 300K/2000K

E = 1 - 0.15

E = 0.85

Therefore the efficiency is: E = 0.85 or 85%

Scientists communicate results in a variety of ways that include but are not limited to published scientific journals and period
RUDIKE [14]
S~ cientists publish their original research in scientific journals, which are fundamentally different from news magazines. The articles in scientific journals are not written by journalists – they are written by scientists. Scientific articles are not sensational stories intended to entertain the reader with an amazing discovery, nor are they news stories intended to summarize recent scientific events, nor even records of every successful and unsuccessful research venture. Instead, scientists write articles to describe their findings to the community in a transparent manner.

Explain why ultra-high voltages are<br> used to carry electricity over transmission lines.
Sidana [21]
Well, let's take it the other way. If you have a rather low voltage (220 volts -- Europe -- is low) you'd get a high current, which more easily dissipates as heat, resulting in loss of energy. Using a high voltage you have a low current which could easily be transported with almost no loss.
