Answer:

5.6 L

Explanation:

We are given;

  • Initial volume, V1 = 3.5 L
  • Initial pressure, P1 = 0.8 atm
  • Final pressure, P2 = 0.5 atm

We are required to calculate the final volume;

  • According to Boyle's law, the volume of a fixed mass of a gas and the pressure are inversely proportional at a constant temperature.
  • That is; P α 1/V
  • Mathematically, P=k/V
  • At two different pressure and volume;

           P1V1 = P2V2

In this case;

Rearranging the formula;

V2 = P1V1 ÷ P2

     = (0.8 atm × 3.5 L) ÷ 0.5 atm

    = 5.6 L

Therefore, the resulting volume is 5.6 L

What is the oxidation number of oxygen in H2O?

Oxygen almost always has an oxidation number of -2, except in peroxides (H 2 O 2) where it is -1 and in compounds with fluorine (OF 2) where it is +2. Hydrogen has an oxidation number of +1 when combined with non-metals, but it has an oxidation number of -1 when combined with metals.

Burka [1]
In the given above, we have two densities which are 0.89 g/mL and 0.72 g/mL. We are also given that the liquids are immiscible. After the settlement of the liquids, they will form two layers.

The heavier substance, the one which has a higher density will be at the bottom and the lighter substance, the one which has a lower density will be at the top layer.

What is enthalpy?
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer: the heat content of a system at constant pressure.

Explanation:

Enthalpy is defined as the heat content of a system at constant pressure.

It is the heat absorbed or released during a reaction at constant pressure,denoted as ΔH.

Tom [10]

Answer:

Time = 0.929s = 0.93s (2 s.f)

Explanation:

Rate constant, k = 34.1 M^-1s^-1

Initial Concentration, [A]o = 0.100M

Time = ?

Final Concentration [A] = 0.0240M

The parameters are represented in the following equation as;

1/[A] = kt + 1/[A]o

kt = 1/[A]  -  1/[A]o

kt = 1/0.0240 - 1/0.1

kt = 31.67

t = 31.67 / 34.1

t = 0.929s = 0.93s (2 s.f)
