Answer:

Option (d)

The angular momentum of the system is 5 Kg-m²/s

Explanation:

Angular momentum: Angular momentum is the product of angular velocity and of moment of inertia.

Angular momentum is dented by L

And the unit of angular momentum is Kg-m²/s

L= I×ω

I is momentum of inertia

ω is angular velocity.

The unit of angular velocity  is red/s.

Momentum of inertia : Momentum of inertia is the sum  square the perpendicular distance from the rotational axis to of product mass of each particle of the body.

I=\sum Mr^2

The S.I unit of momentum of inertia is kg-m²

The angular momentum of a system is:

L= ∑I ω

  =∑ Mr²ω      [ Since I=\sum Mr^2]

Given , M= 1 kg,  r₁=1 m , r₂= 2 m and   ω = 1 rad/s.

The angular momentum of the system is

L= Mr₁²ω+Mr₂²ω

  = Mω(r₁²+r₂²)

 = {1×1 (1²+2²)}

=5 Kg-m²/s

Digiron [165]

The voltage across an inductor ' L ' is

V = L · dI/dt .

I(t) = I(max) sin(ωt)

dI/dt = I(max) ω cos(ωt)

V = L · ω · I(max) cos(ωt)

L = 1.34 x 10⁻² H

ω = 2π · 60 = 377 /sec

I(max) = 4.80 A

V = L · ω · I(max) cos(ωt)

V = (1.34 x 10⁻² H) · (377 / sec) · (4.8 A) · cos(377 t)

<em>V = 24.25 cos(377 t)</em>

V is an AC voltage with peak value of 24.25 volts and frequency = 60 Hz.

A 20.0-N weight slides down a rough inclined plane which makes an angle of 30 degree with the horizontal. The weight starts from
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

1270.64\ \text{J}

Explanation:

m = Mass of object = \dfrac{mg}{g}

mg = Weight of object = 20 N

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81\ \text{m/s}^2

v = Final velocity = 15 m/s

u = Initial velocity = 0

d = Distance moved by the object = 150 m

\theta = Angle of slope = 30^{\circ}

f = Force of friction

fd = Work done against friction

The force balance of the system is

\dfrac{1}{2}m(v^2-u^2)=(mg\sin\theta-f)d\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2=mg\sin\theta d-fd\\\Rightarrow fd=mg\sin\theta d-\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2\\\Rightarrow fd=20\times \sin 30^{\circ}\times 150-\dfrac{1}{2}\times \dfrac{20}{9.81}\times 15^2\\\Rightarrow fd=1270.64\ \text{J}

The work done against friction is 1270.64\ \text{J}.

List three reasons that rain predictions made by meteorologists are sometimes incorrect. Explain your response.
Agata [3.3K]
1. <span>the low pressure is moving slower than expected.
This make the meteorologist receive premature data which make them fail to interpret the data correctly and make the wronf prediction.
2. Sudden change in wind direction, which transfer the natural occurence into other region than where it initially predicted
3. We still haven't developed the methodology to 100% predict natural occurence</span>
