Answer : The number of moles of helium gas found in a balloon are 0.26 moles.

Explanation :

To calculate the moles of helium gas, we use the equation given by ideal gas :

PV = nRT

where,

P = Pressure of helium gas = 1.15 atm

V = Volume of the helium gas = 5.5 L

n = number of moles of helium gas = ?

R = Gas constant = 0.0821\text{ L.atm }mol^{-1}K^{-1}

T = Temperature of helium gas = 22.0^oC=273+22.0=295K

Putting values in above equation, we get:

1.15atm\times 5.5L=n\times 0.0821\text{ L.atm }mol^{-1}K^{-1}\times 295K\\\\n=0.26mol

Therefore, the number of moles of helium gas found in a balloon are 0.26 moles.

Using pv=nRT
T= 22+273 K
P=1.15 Pa
R=8.31
V =5.5... (u did not write the unit so...)

Therefore n,mole= (1.15×5.5) ÷ (273+22)(8.31)

Consider the reaction Ca(OH)2(s)→CaO(s)+H2O(l) with enthalpy of reaction ΔHrxn∘=65.2kJ/mol What is the enthalpy of formation of
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

ΔH °fCaO= -655.09 KJ/mol =  ΔH °fCaO

Explanation:

ΔH °(reaction)a=ΔH °f(product)-ΔH °f(reactant)

where,

ΔH °f(product)=is the standard heat of formation of products

-ΔH °f(reactant)=is the standard heat of formation of reactants

The standard heat of formation of  H 2 O ( l )  is  − 285.8 k J / m o l .

The standard heat of formation of  Ca(OH )2  is  − 986.09 k J / m o l .

For the given reaction, the standard enthalpy change is calculated by the expression shown below.

ΔH °(reaction)a=ΔH °f(CaO+H2O)-ΔH °f(Ca(OH)₂

65.2                =  ΔH °fCaO+( -265.8) -(-986.09)

                       = ΔH °fCaO-265.8+986.09

65.2                        =  ΔH °fCaO+ 720.29

65.2-720.29      =  ΔH °fCaO

-655.09 KJ/mol ==  ΔH °fCaO

What state of matter has a definite shape and volume.
anastassius [24]

Solids have a definite shape and volume. They are always the same shape no matter what they are contained in; their volume is also the same because they don't change unless you add or take away from it.

____________________________________________________________

Liquids have an indefinite shape but definite volume. They expand to fill out the space they are contained in, but their volume doesn't change unless you take out or add more of the liquid.

Gases have an indefinite shape and volume. Gases expand to fill out the space they are in and also don't have a clear shape because they are not always in one form.
