A 3.4kg aluminium ball has an apparent mass of 2.10kg when submerged in a particular liquid. Calculate the density of the liquid

.
Physics

Shalnov [3]3 years ago

Answer:

1083.3kg/m ³

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of aluminium ball = 3.4kg

Apparent mass of ball = 2.1kg

Unknown:

Density of the liquid = ?

Solution:

Density is is the mass per unit volume of any give substance;

         Density = \frac{mass}{volume}

     Now, we must understand that the apparent weight of the aluminium is the part of its weight supported by the fluid;

   Pl = \frac{Ml}{Vl}

   Pl = density of liquid

   Ml = mass of liquid

   Vl = volume of liquid

 Mass of liquid = Mal - Mapparent

       Mal = mass of aluminium

The volume of liquid displaced is the same as the volume of the aluminium according to Archimedes's principle;

              Ml = Pl x Vl

      Val = Vl

      Val volume of aluminium

      Vl = volume of liquid

            ****

        Pal = \frac{Mal}{Val}

       Val = \frac{Mal}{Pal}

       Val = volume of aluminium

       Mal = mass of aluminium

       Pal = density of aluminium

   *****

      Since the Val = Vl

          Ml = Pl x \frac{Mal}{Pal}

    Since

          Ml = Mal - Mapparent

                Mal - Mapparent  = Pl  x \frac{Mal}{Pal}

Pal = density of aluminium = 2712 kg/m ³

             3.4 - 2.1 = Pl x \frac{3.4}{2712}

                 1.3 = Pl x 0.00123

                    Pl = 1083.3kg/m ³

9. Una jeringa contiene cloro gaseoso, que ocupa un volumen de 95 mL a una presión de 0,96 atm. ¿Qué presión debemos ejercer en
masha68 [24]

Answer:

2.61 atm

Ley de Boyle

Explanation:

P_1 = Presión inicial = 0.96 atm

P_2 = Presión final

V_1 = Volumen inicial = 95 mL

V_2 = Volumen final = 35 mL

En este problema usaremos la ley de Boyle.

\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}=\dfrac{V_2}{V_1}\\\Rightarrow P_2=\dfrac{P_1V_1}{V_2}\\\Rightarrow P_2=\dfrac{0.96\times 95}{35}\\\Rightarrow P_1=2.61\ \text{atm}

La presión ejercida sobre el émbolo para reducir su volumen es de 2.61 atm.

Eating eggs for breakfast increases grades. What is the constant?
Feliz [49]

Answer and Explanation:

The answer would be: <u>Breakfast</u>

<u></u>

Breakfast would be the constant of this scenario because this doesn't change. The time of day (for eating eggs) will always be in the morning, so that wouldn't change.

Eating eggs would be the independent variable because you can change this value. This could be a different food or an amount of the food that is being eaten.

The grades would be the dependent variable because the score <em>depends</em> on the eating of eggs.

If Bert the Bat travels East at 200 meters in 10 seconds, what is his velocity?
dexar [7]

Answer:

20m/s due east

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Displacement eastward  = 200m

Time  = 10s

Unknown:

Velocity  = ?

Solution:

Velocity is the displacement divided by time;

    Velocity  = \frac{displacement}{time}

 Velocity  = \frac{200}{10}    = 20m/s due east
