How will a wave change as it moves from a layer of lower velocity into a lower layer of higher velocity?

Physics

Answer:

The wave moves away from the normal

Explanation:

Waves are the disturbances that are able to carry energy from one place to another. These waves can travel in both the denser as well as the rarer medium.

In the denser medium, the waves travel at a slower rate, and on the other hand, in rarer medium, the waves can travel at a comparatively faster rate.

As a wave moves from a layer of low velocity (denser medium such as a liquid) to a layer of high velocity (rarer medium like air), then the waves move away from the normal (perpendicular line) and result in the increase in the velocity of the wave.

Which force changes the lithosphere by building up the surface?
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

volcanic eruptions

Explanation:

The volcanic eruptions are the ones that manage to cause changes to the lithosphere by building up new material on the surface. Through the volcanic eruptions we have release of pyroclastic material on the surface, and more importantly and in much higher amount lava flows. The lava flows quickly cool off on the surface on the Earth, and as they do they pile up new layers of igneous rocks, thus new crust on the surface of the Earth, causing changes on the lithosphere and shaping it for the foreseeable future.

A force F = (2.75 N)i + (7.50 N)j + (6.75 N)k acts on a 2.00 kg mobile object that moves from an initial position of d = (2.75 m
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

The work done on the object by the force in the 5.60 s interval is 40.93 J.

Explanation:

Given that,

Force F=(2.75\ N)i+(7.50\ N)j+(6.75\ N)k

Mass of object = 2.00 kg

Initial position d=(2.75)i-(2.00)j+(5.00)k

Final position d=-(5.00)i+(4.50)j+(7.00)k

Time = 4.00 sec

We need to calculate the work done on the object by the force in the 5.60 s interval.

Using formula of work done

W=F\cdot d

W=F\cdot(d_{f}-d_{i})

Put the value into the formula

W=(2.75)i+(7.50)j+(6.75)k\cdot (-(5.00)i+(4.50)j+(7.00)k-(2.75)i+(2.00)j-(5.00)k)

W=(2.75)i+(7.50)j+(6.75)k\cdot((-7.75)i+6.50j+2.00k)

W=2.75\times-7.75+7.50\times6.50+6.75\times2.00

W=40.93\ J

Hence, The work done on the object by the force in the 5.60 s interval is 40.93 J.
