The Coriolis effect causes fluids, like water or air, to curve as they across or above Earth's surface. In the northern hemisphere it makes all the tornadoes, toilet water, and hurricanes spin or twist counter clock wise and in the southern hemisphere it make all the tornadoes, toilet water, and hurricanes spin or twist clock wise.

The Coriolis effect is the rotation of the water as it flows especially down a drain. In the northern hemisphere, water flows counter clockwise. Southern hemisphere, clockwise. This effects the rotation of storms as well.

Soloha48 [4]

White phosphorus melts and then vaporizes at high temperatures. The gas effuses at a rate that is 0.404 times that of neon in the same apparatus under the same conditions-There are 4 atoms of P in the molecule

Explanation:

Ar=30,97g/mol

R_{Px/R_Ne}=\sqrt{Mr(Ne)/Mr(Px)}=0,404

0,404=\sqrt{20,18/30,97*x}

0,404^{2}=20,18/30,97*x

X=20,18/30,97*0,163

X=4

There are 4 atoms of P in the molecule

Neopentyl alcohol, (ch3)3cch2oh, cannot be dehydrated to an alkene without rearrangement. what is the chief product of dehydrati
emmainna [20.7K]

Dehydration is removal of water.

In alcohols dehydration is α-β elimination or 1,2 elimination, it means the hydroxyl group will be removed from α-carbon while the hydrogen will be removed from near by carbon.

In case of neopentyl alcohol there is no β hydrogen present on the β carbon [as shown in figure].

The only possible way for it to undergo dehydration is by rearrangement.

The process or mechanism can be understood as:

so the chief product is 2-methylbut-2-ene

State whether the following statement is true.justify the answer with examples
Ilya [14]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Atoms only achieve complete outer electron shells if they contain an outer shell with 7 electrons before gaining another electron or an outer shell with 1 electron before losing an electron. This is assuming that the octet-rule can be applied to said atom. In addition, the number of valence electrons varies from atom to atom which is why not ALL atoms achieve complete outer electron shells after gaining or losing just ONE electron.
