al of $43.75 at the fair. Johnny spent his money only on ride tickets and fair admission. The price of the fair admission is the same for everyone. Use y to represent the total cost and x to represent the number of ride tickets.
(a)Define your variables.
(b)Write a linear equation that can be used to determine the cost for anyone who only pays for ride tickets and fair admission.

Part (a)

The variable y is the dependent variable and the variable x is the independent variable.

Part (b)

The cost of one ticket is $1.25. Therefore, the cost of 25 tickets will be: .

Now, we know that Johnny spent his money only on ride tickets and fair admission and that he spent a total of $43.75.

Therefore, the price of the fair admission is: $43.75-$31.25=$12.5

If we use y to represent the total cost and x to represent the number of ride tickets, the linear equation that can be used to determine the cost for anyone who only pays for ride tickets and fair admission can be written as:

y=1.25x+12.5......Equation 1

Part (c)

The above equation is logical because, in general, the total cost of the rides will depend upon the number of ride tickets bought and that will be 1.25x. Now, even if one does not take any rides, that is when x=0, they still will have to pay for the fair admission, and thus their total cost, y=$12.5.

Likewise, any "additional" cost will depend upon the number of ride tickets bought as already suggested. Thus, the total cost will be the sum of the total ride ticket cost and the fixed fair admission cost. Thus, the above Equation 1 is the correct representative linear equation of the question given.

2000 soldiers stand in a row. Beginning from the left, each soldier calls out a number, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, and
Cloud [144]

Answer:

The number of soldiers that call out a number 3 is 666 soldiers

Step-by-step explanation:

The parameters given are;

Number of soldiers = 2000

Soldiers calling from the left = 1, 2, 3,.....

Soldiers calling from the right = 1, 2, 3,.....

Therefore, since the number soldiers calling out the number 3 are 1 in 3 from the left and 1 in 3 from the right, we split the soldiers into 2 groups of 1000, with one group calling from left and the other group calling from the right;

The number of 3s in called out in the first group from the left is therefore;

1000/3 = 333.33 which is 333 soldiers or from the 3rd soldier to the 999th soldier

Similarly the number of 3s called out from the second group = 333

Hence the total number of soldiers that call out a number 3 = 333 + 333 = 666 soldiers.

How do you model a decimal using a fraction
stiks02 [169]
Okie dokie,
When converting a decimal, you use the place the decimal is in...
Let's review the places: tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc.
You look at the last number to determine what place you're using!
-------------------
Now here's an example for the tenths place:
.5
it's in the tenths place, right? so put it over that number (with no decimal) over a 10.
(mobile) 5/10 or \frac{5}{10}
Now, decide if you can simplify. You can! 5/10 simplifies down to 1/2.
\frac{1}{2} is your answer!
--------
Example for the hundredths place:
.26
the last number is in the hundredths place, so put the number (without a decimal) over 100!
26/100 or \frac{26}{100}
You can simplify this!
13/50 is your answer!

Calculators can also come in handy!
Good luck!

Since A is (-7,-4) and C is (7,3) for the x value from a to c is 14 for the y value from a to c is 7

Do 14 x 2/7 which is 4

Do 7 x 2/7 which is 2

then add (-7+4,-4+2) which is (-3,-2)
