Consider a solenoid oriented on a horizontal surface from north to south. We know that self-induced emf in this solenoid is not

zero and directed from south end of solenoid to north end. We can conclude from this fact that current though this solenoid is
a. passing from south end of solenoid to north end and is decreasing in magnitude

b. passing from north end of solenoid to south and and is increasing in magnitude

c. passing from south end of solenoid to north end and is increasing in magnitude

d. there is not enough information given to answer this question

Answer:

a. passing from south end of solenoid to north end and is decreasing in magnitude

Explanation:

by taking into account the Lenz's law

\epsilon=-\frac{d\Phi_{B}}{dt}

From the Lenz's law we know that if the self-induced emf is due to a decrease in the current, the self-induced current is in a opposite direction. In the other case, when the current increase, the self-induced current is in the same direction that the initial current in the solenoid.

If we assume the second case (the current is increasing) the change in the magnetic flux is negative and the self-induced current contributes to the initial current

I hope this is usefull for you

A ball is thrown horizontally from the top of a building and strikes the sidewalk after 2.8 s. How tall is the building? Neglect
Brut [27]

Answer:

h = 38.41 m

Explanation:

Given that,

A ball is thrown horizontally from the top of a building and strikes the sidewalk after 2.8 s.

We need to find the height of the building. Let it is h.

Initial speed of the ball, u = 0

Using second equation of motion to find h as follows :

h=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2\\\\\text{Put u = 0 and a = g}\\\\h=\dfrac{1}{2}gt^2\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.8\times 2.8^2\\\\=38.41\ m

So, the building is 38.41 m tall.

What is the relationship between air pressure and wind velocity
iVinArrow [24]
Air pressure is proportional to the square of the wind velocity.

Wind speed is how fast wind goes and atmospheric pressure is the pressure that the atmosphere pushes on us. The greater the difference in barometric pressure from a high pressure zone to a low pressure zone, the greater the wind velocity will be.

Hope this helped!

What must a system owner do, once the threshold leak rate has been exceeded on any low-pressure system using an ozone-depleting
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

A procedure according to the norms.

Explanation:

If possible, proceed to fix the leak in no more than 30 days from the moment it was discovered.

Otherwise, during the first 30 days develop a planification to backfit the leak or, if needed, retire the appliance. This should be executed within one year.

A car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly to reach a speed of 21 m/s in 7.0 s. What was the speed of the object after 2.0
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

6 m/s

Explanation:

Well we can find acceleration a=v/t = (21-0)/7=3 m/s^2

vf=at+v0, use this equation to solve for the vf

vf=3(2)+0=6 m/s was its speed at 2s
