Answer:

Moles of carbon dioxide gas is 0.584 moles.

Mass of 0.584 moles of carbon dioxide gas is 25.7 g

Explanation:

Using ideal gas equation

PV = nRT

where,

P = Pressure of gas = 0.480 atm

V = Volume of gas = 30.0 L

n = number of moles of gas = ?

R = Gas constant = 0.0821 L.atm/mol.K

T = Temperature of gas = 27°C = 300.15 K

Putting values in above equation, we get:

(0.480 atm)\times 30.0 L=n\times (0.0821L.atm/mol.K)\times 300.15K\\\\n=0.5844 mol\approx 0.584

Moles of carbon dioxide gas = 0.584 moles

Mass of 0.584 moles of carbon dioxide gas = 0.584 mol × 44 g/mol = 25.69 g ≈ 25.7 g

How many grams of CO are produced when 41.0 g of C reacts?
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

95.7 g CO to the nearest tenth.

Explanation:

2C + O2 ---> 2CO

Using relative atomic masses:

24 g C produces 2*12 + 2*16 g CO.

So 41 g produces ( (2*12 + 2*16) * 41 ) / 24

= 95.7 g CO,

The molecular formula =C₆H₁₂O₆

Further explanation

Given

6.00 g of a certain compound X

The molecular molar mass of 180. g/mol

CO₂=8.8 g

H₂O=3.6 g

Required

The molecular formula

Solution

mass C in CO₂ :

= 1.12/44 x 8.8

= 2.4 g

mass H in H₂O :

= 2.1/18 x 3.6

= 0.4 g

Mass O in compound :

= 6-(2.4+0.4)

= 3.2 g

Mol ratio C : H : O

= 2.4/12 : 0.4/1 : 3.2/16

= 0.2 : 0.4 : 0.2

= 1 : 2 : 1

The empirical formula : CH₂O

(CH₂O)n=180 g/mol

(12+2+16)n=180

(30)n=180

n=6

(CH₂O)₆=C₆H₁₂O₆

If you were about 10 kilometers above earth, what would the pressure approximately be?
Sliva [168]

Answer:

About 25 kPa

Explanation:

Pressure decreases with height above sea level.

The calculation is rather complicated, so I will refer to the figure below.

It shows that the pressure at 10 km is about 25 kPa.
