Average Velocity = <em>displacement </em>/ time

                             = 50 / 20

                             = 2.5 m/s

Displacement is the length from Start Point to End Point

Example

John drives from his house to North 3 m then he drives to the East 4 m

You can find displacement by the <em>Pythagorean Theorem.</em>

Displacement = \sqrt[]{3^{2} +4^{2} } = 5 m

Pythagorean Theorem

(From Wikipedia)

...This theorem can be written as an equation relating the lengths of the sides a, b and c, often called the "Pythagorean equation"

a^{2} +b^{2} = c^{2}

where c represents the length of the hypotenuse and a and b the lengths of the triangle's other two sides. The theorem, whose history is the subject of much debate, is named for the ancient Greek thinker Pythagoras.

An open pipe of length 0.39m vibrates in the third harmonic with a frequency of 1400Hz. What is the distance from the center of
Gnoma [55]

Length of the pipe = 0.39 m

Third harmonic frequency = 1400 Hz

For the third harmonic:

Wavelength = \frac{2L}{3}

The center of the open pipe will host a node and the nearest anti - node from the center will be at the 0.25 × wavelength

Distance from center  = 0.25 × wavelength

Distance = 0.25 x \frac{2L}{3}

Plugging the value of the length of the pipe (L) = 0.39 m = 39 cm

Distance = 0.25 x \frac{2 \times 39}{3}

Distance from the center to the nearest anti - node = 6.5 cm

Hence, the nearest distance to the anti - node from the center = 6.5 cm

So, option C is correct.

A parallel-plate capacitor is connected to a battery and becomes fully charged. The capacitor is then disconnected, and the sepa
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

Increases

Explanation:

The expression for the capacitance is as follows as;

C=\frac{\epsilon _{0}A}{d}

Here, C is the capacitance, \epsilon _{0} is the permittivity of free space, A is the area and d is the distance between the parallel plate capacitor.

It can be concluded from the above expression, the capacitance is inversely proportional to the distance. According to the given problem, the capacitor is disconnected from the battery and the distance between the plates is increased. Then, the capacitance of the given capacitor will decrease in this case.

The expression for the energy stored in the parallel plate capacitor is as follows;

E=\frac{Q^{2}}{2C}

Here, E is the energy stored in the capacitor, C is the capacitance and Q is the charge.

Energy stored in the given capacitor is inversely proportional to the capacitor. The charge on the capacitor is constant. In the given problem, as the distance between the parallel plates is being separated, the energy stored in this capacitor increases.

Therefore, the option (c) is correct.
