Hey there!

Perimeter is the combination of all the sides.

side+side+side+side= P

We know that P, or perimeter, is 14 yards.

And we know that one side is 4 yards.

4 * 2= 8 (we know two sides have to be the same)

14-8= 6

Now we have 6 yards left and two sides. So, we should divide by two.

6/2=3

x=3

I hope this helps!

Answer:

w=3

Step-by-step explanation:

Though I think there is a typo of using <em>x</em> instead of <em>w</em>, this is a matter of simple order of operations

Perimeter is the total value of all sides and because the shape is a rectangle, the other two sides are the same value as the first two.

The perimeter is ---

P = w+4+w+4

We also know that ---

P = 14

So we also now form an equation and use the ladder method:

w+4+w+4 =14   —>

2w+8 = 14          —>

    –8 = –8

    2w = 6           —>

     ÷2 = ÷2

       w = 3,

or in the case of the typo, x=3.

6 more than 5 times a number is 26. What is the number?
lubasha [3.4K]
Hey there!
We'll define "the number" as x. We know that "is" signifies an equals sign and therefore an equation, and we're going to be adding six to five times x. Therefore, we have:
5x + 6 = 26
Add -6 to both sides:
5x = 20
Divide both sides by 5 to get:
x = 4
So, 4 is the number.
Hope this helps!

Eliminate the parameter,t, in the parametric equation, x=6cos t, and y =3 sin t
german
X = 6 cos(t)
y = 3 sin(t)

we can rewrite these equations as:

\frac{x}{6}=cost(t) \\ \\ \frac{y}{3} =sin(t)

Taking squares of both equations we get:

( \frac{x}{6})^{2}=sin^{2} (t) \\  \\ &#10;( \frac{y}{3})^{2}=cos^{2}(t)

Adding both the equations, we get:

\frac{ x^{2} }{36}+ \frac{ x^{2} }{9}=sin^{2}(t)+cos^{2}(t)   \\  \\ &#10; \frac{ x^{2} }{36}+ \frac{ x^{2} }{9}=1

Find the lateral area of the regular prism with height h, if the base of the prism is: Equilateral triangle with the side 4 cm a
Shtirlitz [24]

Equilateral triangle with the side 4 cm and h=2.5 cm

In equilateral triangle all sides are equal

so all sides are equal in the base of the prism

lateral area of the prism = Perimeter of the base * height

Perimeter of the base equilateral triangle = side + side + side

lateral area of the prism =(side + side + side) * height

= (4+4+4) * 2.5

= 30 cm^2

lateral area of the prism = 30 cm^2
