Answer:

It's  B) serving as a food source

Explanation:

In a food pyramid 10% of the energy something has obtained is transferred to the next  animal / organism that eats it . So if a plant were to provide energy to an animal in their life process, they obtain that energy from the sun but give the energy  by being eaten by an animal in their life process

What is the net force required to accelerate a 16 kg box at a rate or 1.4 m/s^2
stich3 [128]
You can use Newton's Second Law which states:
\sum \vec{F} = m\vec{a}

Plug in given information:
\sum \vec{F}=16(1.4) = 22.4N

This is closest to option b which is your answer.

A catcher in a baseball game stops a pitched ball that was originally moving at 44 m/s over a distance of 12.5 cm. the mass of t
eduard

Answer:

Force = -1161.6 Newton

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Initial velocity, u = 44m/s

Distance ,s = 12.5cm to m = 12.5/100 = 0.125m

Mass = 0.15kg

To find the acceleration;

We would use the third equation of motion;

V ² = U² + 2as

0² = 44² + 2*a*0.125

0 = 1936 + 0.25a

0.25a = -1936

a = -1936/0.25

Acceleration, a = -7744m/s2

Force = mass * acceleration

Substituting into the equation, we have;

Force = 0.15 * (-7744)

Force = -1161.6 Newton

The value of its force is negative because the glove decreases the velocity of the ball.

From a window that is 20 m from the ground a stone with a speed of 10m / s is thrown vertically upwards. Calculate:
Oduvanchick [21]

a)

consider the motion in upward direction as positive and down direction as negative

Y₀ = initial position of the stone = 20 m

v₀ = initial velocity of the stone = 10 m/s

a = acceleration = - 9.8 m/s²

Y = final position of the stone when it reach the maximum height

v = final velocity at the maximum height = 0 m/s

t = time taken to reach the maximum height

Using the equation

v² = v₀² + 2 a (Y - Y₀)

0² = 10² + 2 (- 9.8) (Y - 20)

Y = 25.1 m

also using the equation

v = v₀ + a t

inserting the values

0 = 10 + (- 9.8) t

t = 1.02 sec

b)

consider the motion in upward direction as positive and down direction as negative

Y₀ = initial position of the stone = 20 m

v₀ = initial velocity of the stone = 10 m/s

a = acceleration = - 9.8 m/s²

Y = final position of the stone when it reach the ground = 0 m

t = time taken to reach the ground

Using the equation

Y = Y₀ + v₀ t + (0.5) a t²

0 = 20 + 10 t + (0.5) (- 9.8) t²

t = 3.3 sec
