Mathematics

Animators can create mountains using fractal geometry.

They create these mountains by breaking large triangles into smaller and smaller triangles, as a result, these large triangles end up looking like mountains.

An animator became a millionaire because he discovered this. He sold his mountain animations to air travel companies who wanted to place photographs of planes behind mountains in their advertisements.

It would've been expensive to take photos of planes behind real mountains, so these air travel companies decided to buy this animator's animations of mountains in order to save money.

What happened to this animator? Well he got hired by Pixar to help create the movie Toy Story and became even wealthier.

They use math to estimate every single shot of the animation, so it would not drag on. key animators set a time for every frame and then when filming, every scene is filmed with the amount of time that was set for every frame therefore creating.
