Fe2O3 + CO --> Fe + CO2
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

The answer to your question is

1.-Fe₂O₃

2.- 280 g

3.- 330 g

Explanation:

Data

mass of CO = 224 g

mass of Fe₂O₃ = 400 g

mass of Fe = ?

mass of CO₂

Balanced chemical reaction

                       Fe₂O₃   + 3CO    ⇒  2Fe  +   3CO₂

1.- Calculate the molar mass of Fe₂O₃ and CO

Fe₂O₃ = (56 x 2) + (16 x 3) = 160 g

CO = 12 + 16 = 28 g

2.- Calculate the proportions

theoretical proportion Fe₂O₃ /3CO = 160/84 = 1.90

experimental proportion Fe₂O₃ / CO = 400/224 = 1.78

As the experimental proportion is lower than the theoretical, we conclude that the Fe₂O₃ is the limiting reactant.

3.-     160 g of Fe₂O₃  --------------- 2(56) g of Fe

         400 g of Fe₂O₃ ---------------  x

         x = (400 x 112) / 160

        x = 280 g of Fe

4.-      160 g of Fe₂O₃  --------------- 3(44) g of CO₂

          400 g of Fe₂O₃  --------------  x

          x = (400 x 132)/160

         x = 330 gr

What are valence electrons and how do they affect the properties of an atom?
vlada-n [284]

The term "valence electrons" refers to all of the electrons in an atom's outermost shell.

The centre of the atom is where the nucleus is. The nucleus contains protons and neutrons. The electrons travel in a specific circular direction and at a specific distance from the nucleus.

The atom's final shell's electrons take part in chemical reactions and the production of bonds. Both ionic and covalent bonding involve valence electrons. Metals are elements with one, two, or three electrons in their final shell.

These substances become positive ions after losing their electrons. Non-metals are substances with 5, 6, or 7 electrons in the outermost shell. These substances all gain electrons and change into negative ions.

Ionic bonds are those created by the transfer of electrons between metals and non-metals. For instance, ionic bonding allows sodium and chlorine to interact to generate sodium chloride.

Which type of equilibrium exists in a sealed flask containing Br2(ℓ) and Br2(g) at 298 K and 1.0 atm?(1) static phase equilibriu
marishachu [46]
The correct answer is 3.

A dynamic phase equilibrium is when a reversible reaction no longer changes its ratio of reactants to products. However, substances continue to move between the chemicals at an equal rate, which means the net change is 0. This is known as a steady state.

What is the isotope notation for an ion of silver-109 with a charge of positive 1
Arisa [49]

Answer:

The isotope notation for an ion of silver-109 with a charge of positive 1 is _{47}^{109}Ag^{1+}.

Explanation:

The elements with same atomic number with different mass numbers are called isotopes.

The isotopes of silver is as follows.

_{47}^{109}Ag,_{47}^{107}Ag

From the above two isotopes have same atomic number and different mass number.

From the given,the isotope notation for an ion of silver-109 with a charge of positive 1

It can be represented is as follows.

_{47}^{109}Ag^{1+}

General representation of isotope is as in attachment.
