Answer: Option (a) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

A substance in which two or more elements are mixed together but these substances do not combine chemically to each other is known as a mixture.

For example, salt in water is a mixture as salt completely dissolves in water.

Whereas in carbon dioxide, carbon atom reacts chemically with oxygen atom. So, it is not a mixture.

Similarly, water vapor and oxygen gas are both compounds as they contain atoms which are present in similar composition.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options salt water is a mixture.

Answer:   Salt Water

Explanation: The combination of two different substances which are not chemically identical is known as the mixture.

Mixture are of two types - homogeneous mixture and Heterogeneous mixture.

Homogeneous Mixture are the those in which which the substances are mixed well with each other so that only one phase appears like salt in water.

Heterogeneous Mixture are those in which two separate phases occur like oil in water.

Thus carbon dioxide, water vapor and oxygen gas are not mixture as carbon reacts with oxygen chemically to form CO2 . Similarly hydrogen gas and oxygen gas combines chemically to form water vapor. Oxygen is the diatomic elemental gas.

Moreover no chemical reaction takes place between the subsatnces when mixture is formed.

Be sure to answer all parts. What is the [H3O+] and the pH of a buffer that consists of 0.26 M HNO2 and 0.89 M KNO2? (K, of HNO2
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer : The H_3O^+ ion concentration is, 1.12\times 10^{-3}M and the pH of a buffer is, 2.95

Explanation : Given,

K_a=7.1\times 10^{-4}

Concentration of HNO_2 (weak acid)= 0.26 M

Concentration of KNO_2 (conjugate base or salt)= 0.89 M

First we have to calculate the value of pK_a.

The expression used for the calculation of pK_a is,

pK_a=-\log (K_a)

Now put the value of K_a in this expression, we get:

pK_a=-\log (7.1\times 10^{-4})

pK_a=4-\log (7.1)

pK_a=3.15

Now we have to calculate the pH of the solution.

Using Henderson Hesselbach equation :

pH=pK_a+\log \frac{[Salt]}{[Acid]}

pH=pK_a+\log \frac{[KNO_2]}{[HNO_2]}

Now put all the given values in this expression, we get:

pH=3.15+\log (\frac{0.89}{0.26})

pH=2.95

The pH of a buffer is, 2.95

Now we have to calculate the H_3O^+ ion concentration.

pH=-\log [H_3O^+]

2.95=-\log [H_3O^+]

[H_3O^+]=1.12\times 10^{-3}M

The H_3O^+ ion concentration is, 1.12\times 10^{-3}M

Sometimes described as a "chemical brother" of gaba (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which amino acid neurotransmitter acts in an exci
poizon [28]

excitatory amino acids are the amino acids helps in transformation of neurotransmitters or it helps in transmission of synapsis rapidly in brain of mammal. EAA known to be neurotransmitters for Central nervous system.

Excitatory amino acids count may vary from 50’s to 100’s. They are mostly composed of non-protein- amino acids obtained from algae or fungi.

The possible EAAs are Glutamate (Glu) and Aspartate which act as excitatory neurotransmitters in the brain. They get released from neurons where they induce excitation via metabotropic Glu receptors.

Both glutamate and aspartate having excitatory effect on neurotransmission whereas Gama-amino butyric acid having inhibitory effect on neurotransmission.

Thus, the statement ‘neurotransmitters are chemical brother of gaba’ is indicating the complementary effect of each other.

In an ecosystem, what do organisms and populations with similar needs compete<br>over?
hram777 [196]

Answer:

In any ecosystem, organisms and populations with similar requirements for food, water, oxygen, or other resources may compete with each other for limited resources, access to which consequently constrains their growth and reproduction. Growth of organisms and population increases are limited by access to resources.
