During a gust of wind, the blades of the windmill are given an angular acceleration of α=(0.2 θ) rad/s2, where θ is measured in

radians. If initially the blades have an angular velocity of 5 rad/s, determine the speed of point P located at the tip of one of the blades just after the blade has turned two revolutions.

Answer:

7.5 rad/s

Explanation:

\alpha = angular acceleration = (0.2) θ

Angular acceleration is given as

\alpha =\frac{dw}{dt}

\alpha =\frac{dw}{d\theta }\frac{d\theta }{dt}

\alpha d\theta = w{dw}

(0.2)\theta  d\theta = w{dw}

Integrating both side

(0.2)\int_{0}^{4\pi }\theta  d\theta = \int_{5}^{w}w{dw}

15.8 = \frac{w^{2} - 25}{2}

w = 7.5 rad/s

An object on the moon will weigh 1/6th of what it does on earth but have the same mass. Why is that?
elena55 [62]

Answer:

Because the weight depends of the gravity

Explanation:

This is because weight and mass are different, in order to better understand this problem we will apply an example with real values, which will help us to determine a person's weight.

A man has a mass of 80 [kg] on Earth when measuring his weight he realizes that it is 784.9 [N] and on the moon it is 130.8 [N]

<u>On Earth</u>

<u />

g_{e} = 9.81[m/s^2]\\g_{m} = 1.635[m/s^2]

Where:

g = gravity

<u>Weight on the moon</u>

<u />

Wm = 80 * 1.635

Wm = 130.8[N]

<u>Weight on the earth</u>

<u />

We = 80 * 9.81

We = 784.8[N]

<u />

In this way we can see that the weight depends on the gravity of where the person is located.

The other name for 'net force' is 'unbalanced force'. What is the name of the force that could be applied to an object that woul
vivado [14]

Answer:

Since these two forces are of equal magnitude and in opposite directions, they balance each other. The book is said to be at equilibrium. There is no unbalanced force acting upon the book and thus the book maintains its state of motion. When all the forces acting upon an object balance each other, the object will be at equilibrium; it will not accelerate.

A uniform magnetic field B=5.210 T is perpendicular to the plane of the paper (into the page). The current-carrying wire of valu
ehidna [41]

Answer:5.21 N

Explanation:

Given

B=5.210 T

I=2 A

L=0.5 m

Given Wire is perpendicular to Magnetic field

\theta =90^{\circ}

F=IL\times B

F=BIL sin\theta

F=5.210\cdot 2\cdot 0.5 sin(90)

F=5.210 N

as  1 Tesla =1 N/A/m

Drivers a and b travel west from boston. driver a leaves three hours earlier traveling at a constant speed of 68mph. driver b fo
Elza [17]

We can answer this using one of the equations of linear motion:

v = d / t

where:

v = velocity

d = distance

t = time

<span>In the problem, we are asked to find for the time in which Driver B will catch up to Driver A. Therefore,  find the time when dA = dB. Rearranging the equation and equation dA and dB will result in:</span>

<span>vA * tA = vB * tB  ---> 1</span>

It was given that:

vA = 68 mph

tA = tB + 3 (since person A was travelling 3 hours earlier)

vB = 85 mph

tB = unknown

Substituting into equation 1:

68 * (tB + 3) = 85 * tB

68 tB + 204 = 85 tB

tB = 12 hrs

Therefore driver B would catch up to driver A after 12 hrs.
