Amount of CO₂ emission per day is 11,356.23 g.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Joe travelling distance per day = 60 miles

Carbon dioxide emission per day = 20 mpg

Now we have to find the amount of carbon dioxide emitted per day by dividing the distance by the emission per day given in gallons.

Amount of Carbon dioxide emission = $\frac{distance}{emission amount}

Amount of CO₂ emission in gallons  = $\frac{ 60 miles}{20 mpg}

                                                            = 3 gallons

Now we have to convert the gallons to grams as,

1 gallon = 3,785.41 g

3 gallons = 3 × 3785.41 g = 11,356.23 g

So the emission of CO₂ per day is 11,356.23 g.

In a solid state, the molecules have the least amount of energy. They just stick close together and vibrate in place. As the molecules gain more energy, they are able to move around more freely. In the liquid state, the molecules have enough energy to sort of tumble over each other.

[RxN - Balanced]   CH₄ + 2O₂ → CO₂ + 2H₂O

[Given]   2 mol CH₄

[Solve]   x g O₂

<u>Step 2: Identify Conversions</u>

[RxN] 1 mol CH₄ → 2 mol O₂

[PT] Molar Mass of O - 16.00 g/mol

Molar Mass of O₂ - 2(16.00) = 32.00 g/mol

<u>Step 3: Stoichiometry</u>

  1. Set up conversion:                     \displaystyle 2 \ mol \ CH_4(\frac{2 \ mol \ O_2}{1 \ mol \ CH_4})(\frac{32.00 \ g \ O_2}{1 \ mol \ O_2})
  2. Multiply/Divide:                           \displaystyle 128 \ g \ O_2

<u>Step 4: Check</u>

<em>Follow sig fig rules and round. We are given 1 sig fig.</em>

128 g O₂ ≈ 100 g O₂

Snezhnost [94]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

<u>The correct answer is Thermal Energy</u>

<h2>Explanation:</h2>

Thermal energy is the energy that comes from heat. This heat is generated by the movement of tiny particles within an object. The faster these particles move, the more heat is generated. Since the matchstick produces heat energy and heat is referred o thermal energy so it is the correct answer.
